is driving a species to extinction wrong?
    #20012911 -

like the title says. is the act of humans directly or indirectly leading to the extinction of a species necessarily a bad thing? is it unnatural?

species have become extinct before modern humans even existed and other, more well adapted species evolved and took their place. now im generally against unnecessary killing of any animal, and I do think that a lot of damage humanity has done to certain species could have been avoided, but I don't necessarily think that we as humans should be thought of as immoral or evil compared to other animals. the earth is extremely resilient. life finds a way. that kinda thing. thoughts?

Sounds about right.

We are the only animals capable of evil or immoralness but that doesn't really mean that we are evil or immoral as a whole.

But it is pretty saddening, wouldn't you admit, to be the reason for an entire species disappearance, for things like sport hunting or fishing, etc.

on accident, no, on purpose, yes, bad, obviously, killing an entire species.

'Life finds a way' doesn't mean your life will. You kill something, it's killed. Does it satisfy a killed family that the species which killed it found the means to live on? Should a human-dominating species kill your family, will 'life finds a way' be copasetic? Life will find a way, but I don't think the temporary destruction will be very appreciative to the life that was.

Everything exists through Reason - and Reason dictates there will be a correction of every wrong, before normalization. 'Life finds a way' could be a curse on yourself, if used as a concessionary excuse.

Also by that same logic, say a new species arises which rivals that of humans, surpasses them even, and drives them to extinction?

Whether it be through hunting/disregard/whatever.

IS that immoral?

Nah. Fuck mosquitoes. If I could brutally murder them all, I would. I'd set them all aflame with a flamethrower.

It is natural, but so is our consciousness and thus our conscience which tells us to avoid it.

--------------------
In an entheogen influenced moment of clarity I came to understand that reality manifests as a dream from the collective subconscious minds of all conscious entities. Nothingness made something because we collectively believe it into being, and physical laws given power by the reinforcement of conscious observation. Creation, destruction, and even time itself are but an aspect of ourselves and we of them. Life and death, simply illusions we face from a limited grasp of our own existence. We are one, all is eternal.

I was not really trying to justify it. like I said, I personally am against unnecessary killing of animals. and when I say "life finds a way" I mean, barring some massive planet destroying catastrophe, it would not be possible for every species to become extinct without eventually being replaced in the ecosystem by another species. many act as though humans will one day wipe out every species on earth and I believe that is far from possible.

Just because we can do something doesn't mean we should.

Humans are clearly at a level beyond that of animals. There should be limits with how far we take anything.

I just think it's a shame that the mass extinction that is now underway represents the destruction of billions of years of evolution, most products of which will be gone forever.  Can humans survive without these creatures?  Yes.  Are humans inherently bad or evil?  No.  But it's just sad that such intricate, beautiful organisms will be gone forever because they were in the way of civilization.  It's really too bad.

bravo .. you prove how wrong everything is .. there is no species at all .. while total opposite realms of being consciously, exist

someone of no value, so individually cant mean a thing for himself reality, what would he care about ?? everything of course ..

someone of some value, that individually care a lot about a lot of things while being .. what everything could represent to him ?? nothing of course ..

so saying life has a way, is a word from no right conscious .. then we can say the opposite and appear right ..

it is simply that we the right people don't like to shout for nothing .. while unfortunately, evil wills don't do anything else but to invent immediately possessions of things from what we leave free ..

it says how there is no way to avoid the affront .. there gonna be a big war between right and evil powers for sure .. till the extinction of all evil bases .. where it would be clear how superiority cannot be reversed because it is true .. then only existence will start to be .. and new generation will move for birth out of knowing that superior rights are positively free being

the universe will do it's thing regardless of what species come and go.

however it is sad and fucking pathetic that human beings act like they own the planet. one day we'll get wiped off this earth too and then the joke's on us.

What amuses me is that we dont even ask these questions when it comes to microscopic species that cause illness.  But thats not to say I disagree.

I take a pragmatic view of the situation.  If the species is cute, useful or special relative to my value system then its bad to eradicated it.  If the species is ugly, useless or harmful relative to my value system then I either don't care or think it should be eradicated.  That is nature's way and I would never purport to be above nature.

you don't fucking see how you look like an ass here .. explain to me, what relation do you have with any species or humanity, when by definition you are nothing but yourself freedom from everything else and mortal for sure anyways ..??

so actually, you are clearly claiming not only that you know everything being the universe ?! but also that you are representing universe rights and humanity with all others species ..!! what more for a joke are you picturing to get from another human being like yourself ???

of course, it goes without saying .. that what I a m clearly meaning here, is the absolute innocence of any human being regarding any evil fact and possible abuse of else beings rights ..

anything is free from what exist really so out of objectively being .. this mean that evil is only possible from what is never being so out of real existence fact consciously, while beings are exclusively free, so in the same dimension they cant ever touch anything else but themselves

im not so sure it's that clear...or even true at all. I dont think there's much you could say or show to me that would convince me that humans are anything but animals.

and @absols, I'm having a hard time understanding what you are typing...

I disagree.  I've seen my dog i used to have, save a smaller dog, that was being attacked by a bigger dog.  The bigger dog was being evil.  I could go on and on with other examples in nature.  I guess you could say the bigger dog, didn't know better, because he was a dog.  Then that would mean he did not have evil intent, but I believe there are good and evil feelings in most animals, maybe not bugs, idk.

and absols, everything you type flies straight over my head lol.  I wish  I could understand it though.  edit:

  Beat me to it!

about the species becoming extinct, I believe we should keep them all if possible.  I think it's horrible when stupid stuff like pollution causes a species to go extinct.  However, when t-rex's and something worse than the giant Japanese hornet start popping up, along with the mosquitoes carrying malaria around, we may have to reconsider. (or we will be extinct!)  I would personally be weighing the impact on the ecosystem, with that dangerous species extinct.  I would also be considering how dangerous that species is to the human population as a whole.  Also, think about this.  Could you save other species from becoming extinct, by eliminating a species.  Such as the giant japanese hornet.  If I remember correctly, it goes around killing colonies of bees.  So, if we eradicated the giant Japanese hornet, would we be doing the bees a favor?

to understand what I say, is to stop and look at yourself for once ..
what are you meaning here exactly with your post ?? are you defending anyone or anything ??? No .. so ??? who is doing your rambling ??? since you cant be meaning it .. what is it for you here ??? some weak pretenses of knowing things powers ??? what do you know exactly ???

the intention doesn't do any object .. an object is superior to being absolutely for it to be present thing physically ...

while being through evil forces of evil nature and supernatural free powers could be simply forced...

thinking that your dog is good soul .. is showing the animal you think being too ..
being self conscious is knowing that things exist and objective perspectives are real for sure ..

which indirectly prove how animals are by definition never present .. so what animals are in fact evil life powers .. by reversing objective existence freedom rights to kill as the way of existing free .. easiest way meaning the only one left free while having powers to kill every possible else right to be free.. so having something to do constantly as the way to stay free .. killing else and winning over it physical living free reality ..
