How to end suffering on earth 101
    #16149718 -

Considering the fact that all humans are ignorant and don't know the extent of it usually until late in life if ever, the only  way that one can surely be able to reduce suffering on earth is to not procreate.

Suffering In Silence
They've All Been Betrayed
They've Hurt Them And
They've Beat Them
In A Terrible Way
Praying for Survival
At The End Of The Day

Just a moment; if people are so ignorant that they don't realize they are "suffering" (whatever that means when the victims don't even recognize their dis-ease), then what's the problem?

Well if the few who do realize they are suffering don't actually start suffering until they are old, then does that suffering really justify trying to end human existence on the planet?

If indeed the vast majority are doing just OK, in their own eyes!? Doesn't people's subjective opinions matter? After all, whether and how much you suffer or not is largely due to your brain and body chemistry.

But anyway, if people don't have this realization until they're old, chances are they will already have multiplied by way of bodily fluid combinations. And so, it wouldn't be possible to end what you see as suffering this way.

There seems to be the unquestioned premise that suffering is undesirable.

Not saying old. Saying later in life.  And I don't expect this to end all suffering but if it helps to get a few to think about it then I feel I've done my bit for the type of existence I value.

But if you want to end human life then how can you value existence at the same time?

My crystal balls came up with a prescription for you: Study Marc Aurelius and the ways of Stoic joy, and forget about the semi-Buddhist (?) ideas of suffering and existence.

Quote:
Of human life the time is a point, and the substance is in a flux,
and the perception dull, and the composition of the whole body subject
to putrefaction, and the soul a whirl, and fortune hard to divine,
and fame a thing devoid of judgement. And, to say all in a word, everything
which belongs to the body is a stream, and what belongs to the soul
is a dream and vapour, and life is a warfare and a stranger's sojourn,
and after-fame is oblivion. What then is that which is able to conduct
a man? One thing and only one, philosophy. But this consists in keeping
the daemon within a man free from violence and unharmed, superior
to pains and pleasures, doing nothing without purpose, nor yet falsely
and with hypocrisy, not feeling the need of another man's doing or
not doing anything; and besides, accepting all that happens, and all
that is allotted, as coming from thence, wherever it is, from whence
he himself came; and, finally, waiting for death with a cheerful mind,
as being nothing else than a dissolution of the elements of which
every living being is compounded. But if there is no harm to the elements
themselves in each continually changing into another, why should a
man have any apprehension about the change and dissolution of all
the elements? For it is according to nature, and nothing is evil which
is according to nature.

Easy, unlike you I don't think humans are the only things that exist.

Oh now I remember, you believe animals are much better off than humans. Well I'm not going to press for an answer to any of the questions I posed, I understand the argument here. Humans suck, animals are cool.. and too bad the human race is so ignorant that most of them don't get it.
