Are we all born hypocritical?
    #15185252 -

I am finally working again and have so for the past month.

I drive children of ages 3 to 12 to and from school.

I came to a crossroads of thought while observing children perception of the world and thinking about generally how most adults I have encountered ruin their relationships with people through being hypocritical.

I have come to realize that we are born hypocritical, as in we tell people to do what we do not wish to do, especially when it comes to how they treat us in regards to how we treat them.

I have always been able to treat people equally or at least come somewhat close to that but I realize that when I do so I don't feel good. In fact, I feel very bad and angry to try to treat others equally and expect to get back what I have given.

I've decided to live my life like this more, depending on certain factors.

All this really raises questions like; are we born into conflict with each other??? Is it really possible to ever have a mutually beneficial relationship???

I don't think we're born hypocritical, so much as we become.

Because a newborn mostly wants, and doesn't really contemplate the reasons why his wants could be considered a bad thing.

Nature is conflict to a great degree.  All of nature competes for  limited resources and that is that.  No matter how subtle you make it, conflict is there. I see great amounts of hypocrisy over this simple fact.

Even if resources are not limited, there is still what seems to be an inborn drive to take more than you need, instead of giving extra away to others.

It is quite foolish because conflicts arise out of dissatisfaction and yet our mind is incapable of recognizing this to its own advantage.

In this sense the mind can be considered self-destructive, because its operating system ignores the need to stay out of emotional conflicts. (not physical conflicts)

Hilarious.

Newborns don't walk immediately but their bodies eventually develop naturally to a physical state wherein it can walk.

By your logic, I would have to believe that humans aren't naturally born/inclined to walk.....???

I wouldn't exactly call the mind self destructive.  We take more than we need due to the ebb and flow of natures bounty. We have a history of famine times ingrained in us. Its death anxiety imo.

So you believe in genetic memory??

Whatever it is, it still seems to make us hypocritical and yes I would call it self-destructive.

It doesn't recognize the simple pattern that arises when you treat particular people equally.

That is self-destructive...particularly in sexual relationships where the giving and taking isn't about concrete things like food/water/shelter, but about emotions...

You can't measure anger very easily or sadness...and from what I see the mind doesn't always recognize what suits its interests, particularly in the emotional realm...

if you believe in genetic memory then you could say we haven't mentally evolved yet to think past food/water/sex/shelter....which I think is a fundamental problem in human relationships.

Do you think Lions or Deer treat each other equally?  IMO it's an emotional evolution problem. Evolution will take a long time yet to make fundamental changes in our emotional landscape.  And lets face facts, our state of mind has made us the most successful animal on the planet and it might stay that way for a long time yet.

I disagree that we evolved from apes. I believe in the ancient alien theory to be honest. It's the best and most probable theory, especially because the fossil record does not show how our species progressed into its present state. Evolution is a theory on a macro level(concerning our development) but on a micro level its fact.

So i would disgree with that statement.

I guess I hope we will one day evolve to be more emotionally intellectual, at this point I recognize that I am pretty stuck observing emotions and their subsequent reactions.

Yes we are born into conflict with each other. The wheat is separated from the chaff.

Of course you'll have to ignore the amazing genetic similarities  and the anatomical and emotional similarities but I'm sure that poses no problem for you.

You can't possibly be serious? Regardless of what similarities there are the claim that we evolved from apes on a macro level has yet to be proven with fossil records!!! We haven't found a transitional species.

Almost all transitional species we have found have been proven to be false misrepresentations, as in they were not a transitional species!

What? Don't tell me that you imagination is so limited that it can't be possible for a superior race of aliens to us genetic material from monkeys and use it as the basis for creating a new species???

There is plenty of evidence for that and many mysteries still as well.

Plenty of important information and discoveries have been left out of common archaeology.

Take for example, the claim that we originated out of africa and migrated to the america's not so long ago.

Why then did we find cocaine in an egyptian pharoah, a substance indigenous to the america's?? The egyptians were never proven to be a technologically advanced civilization which possesed the power to sail from africa to the america's and yet the pharoahs seem to be medicated with a plant indigenous to the America's??

Oh thats right archaeologists forgot to mention places like Tiwanaku in bolivia, a city that dates well over 10 000 years! Even the Inca's of south america said that there were not the first ones to inhabit the America's. So much obvious information gets left out its not even funny!

All you skeptics don't even know the half of it and sit there an discredit a theory based on someone's hair.

It's possible, but I've seen much more evidence for evolution than for aliens. You do realize that if aliens genetically modified us from monkeys to aliens that they would essentially be doing what evolution is doing, which is changing our genetic makeup.

Evolutionary theory claims that we evolved from apes with intervention from any other species, only through the forces of nature. It also claims we came from Africa and there there are transitional species.

All claims yet to be proven through fossil records and contradicted through archeological evidence.

Fossils are not the only thing that prove evolution. Evolution can be observed in species still living today. Evolution is a long term process that takes baby steps to eventually create a new species.

How do you know there aren't any fossil evidence? As far as I know, fossils are how we came up with the theory. And what archeological evidence contradicts that we originated from Africa?

Human fossil evidence is almost impossibly rare. But there is a lot of evidence still showing evolution at work in primates over long periods of time.  Bones decay and disappear and are very difficult to come across over vast time periods.  I think what we've found so far was quite a bit of good luck.

Of course what you say is possible.  It's also possible that the flying spaghetti monster created humans.  Or the tooth fairy. Or Elvis.
