atheism is hypocritical
when they write the date, they are using a system based of the birth of Jesus.
that means that they acknowledge his birth and the date accordingly..
merry christmas.
not a stab at atheism, but it's true..

No, when we write a date, we write one that is commonly accepted, with the purpose of making ourselves understood, with the purpose of having a fluent and fruitful communication. Sorry to burst your fairy tale bubble.

Well, seeing as how the Christians stole the idea for Christmas from the pagans, and most of the holiday traditions associated with Christmas are actually Yule rituals, I think that it is unreasonable to claim it as a Christian-only celebration.
Personally, I prefer to celebrate on the Winter Solstice, and avoid all the crazy consumerism which currently constitutes Christmas.

I don't recognize Christmas as any special day. I refuse to acknowledge a "Holy Day" prescribed by the Romanist church of Satan.

Christmas Hypocrites
First of all it's not even on the same data that Jesus was born. Second of all Christmas is about consumerism, most people... even Christians do not give a fuck about the actual meaning of Christmas. They care about shopping at the malls for 10 hours straight and buying shit that they don't need. Awesome. HYPOCRITES, fucking Christians.
And no, I didn't do shit for Xmas and I didn't buy any presents. Fuck that shit. I got high, real high, popped some perks and smoked some bud.
What the fuck are you smoking?

So it is a Satanic holiday? Can I celebrate it on those grounds or would I still be a hypocrite?

Well, I don't think that the Satanists claim it, either, so you're probably OK.
I still love Christmas carols, and the only reason I ever attended church was to participate in singing, so I'm definitely going to Hell if fivepointer is correct.

To be a Satanist you sort of have to believe the Christian mythology, so Satanists are just fancy Christians....is this not correct?

The World (generally speaking) sees Christmas as a day associated with Christianity. So when a person who has mocked Christians then goes ahead and wishes people a Merry Christmas and puts up lights ect. then that is certainly hypocritical.
I said the day was created by the Romanist church of Satan. Now if in your mind you are a Christian and are not aware of the history of the day but see it as a day to celebrate Christ's birth, then that would not be hypocritical.
If you believe to celebrate the day which you view as Satanic and by doing so you mock Christians, and you are not Christian, then that is not hypocritical.
It all depends on how you view things on whether or not you are a hypocrite.

And if you celebrate the day because you like cookies, egg nog & colorful lights? Few, if any, "non-Christians" pretend to suddenly love Jesus at Christmastime. It would be hypocritical to pretend to be Christian at Christmas, but not to participate in a holiday which is originally pagan, then Christian, and now a melting-pot of consumerism and TV-show-inspired traditions.

Christmas Hypocrites
My best bud called me from California on Tuesday to wish me a Merry Christmas. Taking a page from the LE playbook, I shouted into the phone, "FUCK OFF, JEW-BOY! You Hebes killed Jesus and don't even believe in him. Don't give me your hypocritical greetings!"
I am certain he got the message.
I am puzzled though as to why he cancelled my New Year's party invitation as that is a neutral holiday.
