No offense to any vegans/vegetarians, but some are crazy, if they had a choice to save the life of a human or an animal, some would choose the animal. And some vegetarians eat fish, I don't understand that at all.

people with their crazy ass self imposed diet restrictions...

I live in a super liberal town, I mostly shop at the food Coop out of convenience (less than a block from my house, and lots of good stuff).

There's this whole gluten free diet craze going on right now too. I mean, yeah, there are people who genuinely have gluten allergies, but there's this whole fad of people convincing themselves they are gluten intolerant. It's so stupid. It's the whole placebo thing. If you convince yourself that not eating something will make you feel better, then you actually start to feel bad when you do eat it. People are so freaking stupid sometimes...

Yeast isn't an Animal.

Yeah, I don't have anything against vegans or vegetarians, but to me it does seem like these health food people are so occupied on keeping themselves healthy in order to live a long life that they simply forgot to live.

I don't understand the gluten free thing. It's like now that veganism has become socially acceptable someone decided it was time to up the crazy.

Vegans aren't that crazy in contrast to "Fruitarians".  These people only eat fruits and nuts, because they wont eat any vegetables if you had to kill the plant to harvest it.  There are monks who practice this, who have people comb the ground before they walk, so as to not step upon and kill any insects.

So take note vegans, there is plenty of room to up the crazy. :wink:

it's true mostly... most just buy into hype and think that they'll live more productive 100 year life then your "ordinary" 100 year life.

sad truth is though... is that when your old enough to have this matter... you're already too old to really care about being healthy, seeing as though you'll be dying naturally soon enough. there is almost no benefit, other then not eating once living on principle.

Vegans eat yeast. It's the nervous system and constant suffering of the animals that gets most of them. I'm not vegan, but I see veganism as being a reaction to corporatism which seeks to turn life into a product that keeps a separation between rich and poor.  Remove the ideology and remove the existing class structure. Vegans are highly educated people who have high ambitions and standards. At its roots I think it has little to do with animals and more to do with comprehension of living systems.

No matter what you eat, you have to kill something to eat it. That's part of being an animal. Denying our own omnivorous nature for any reason is strange to me, and those who do on some sort of principle are even more so.
