So you are saying what you said is untrue?

 I applaud your honesty.

When speaking about Infinity, every word every sage has ever spoken is untrue

You can interpret it how you like...

Buddha "in all my years, i have said nothing"

theres a quote....

It's a dumb quote. His statements about suffering and how to avoid it are IMO of great value to the world.

Just goes to show however that to err is human.

'Death loosens all attachment'

That ones me...

Wait, am i in the right forum to say that?
Considering death is the end of 'physical' existence & its a 'mystery' what happens...

Chronic you praise this total awareness so much that it is a bit scary.
You do as you like but imo being so obsessed with only one aspect of life means you leave out a lot of what life has to offer you.
Just 'being' may be an interesting experience, but don't you think you need to look further?
Let's say that you found 'it'. Ok, good, but now you've got to do something with it.
Put it to the test. If it is real it will stay trust me on this one, if not, well then it isn't the real mccoy.
Stop being so obsessed about it. I used to be too you know.
But then one day after 16 years of daily meditation i got up and now i'm exploring this other much neglected part of me... the part where i feel what i've hidden for myself for so long.
It just frightens me to see someone going down that road becoming obsessed with what is only an aspect of meditation.
You see, imo, real meditation is not on the cushion. It is in real life, when you get up and face the world. That is where we meditate perpetually and dance the dance of life...

Good luck.

PS: I don't think there is awareness without an object of awareness. How would you know?

Well for the personal shit for sure. But there are things we most all agree on and can witness together. There's evidence we can share and evaluate. Not just the special few. Everyone of us. It's not just one persons opinion.

awareness is in the wake of attitude
attitude makes waves
the world makes waves
awareness is where the waves cross

you can look at it and not see it
and a moment later see that looking passed
that is awareness

to practice awareness is to be interested in this

What happens to our feelings when we are only awareness?
Where do they go? Where are they hiding?
Because in this 'only awareness' there is no place for feelings.
What have you done to your feelings?
Tell me how you see the relationship between  awareness and feelings.
Any of you. Thanks.

Theres room for every & any thing in Awareness, including feelings...

Theres plenty of space in this ocean for every emotion
Im just saying, your the ocean, not only a wave
Not to say the wave is bad, or theres no room for it
Just to see the facts, am i the wave or the ocean?

The ocean includes all waves, so to say 'i am the ocean' is not to exclude any wave
I am the waves aswell...

Its just that if we only follow the direction of the wave
Cause of the direction of the waves flow...We miss seeing that we are the ocean

Are there in this awareness feelings or not?
Because you are saying that the only thing that matters is awareness because that is the ocean, and the feelings are only the waves.
So i take it that you are implying that we shouldn't pay any attention to our feelings, just be aware, nothing more and nothing less.
Imo that is abandoning your feelings... i think you overrate this awareness and ignore you feelings.
Am i wrong about this?

Like i said, its not to exclude the waves
The ocean includes ALL the waves

Im not there taking a stand as the ocean, repeating a mantra 'i am not a wave'

Its just seeing, everything swims in me
I cant abandon any feeling, i cant ignore any feeling
Its all in me...its all swimming...

If you want to interpret the feeling, psycho analyze the feeling, move the feeling around
Swap one feeling for a 'better' feeling
Its all wave play...

Seeing you are Ocean is to allow all expression full potential
To try & molest the waves is to suffocate the expression

:peace:

So you are not working with your feelings.
'It's all wave play' right?
Me think you got it wrong there.
Me think that understanding our feelings is a way to enlighten ourself and the world.
But if you ignore your feelings and claim that 'expression' is enough then i think you missed the point of meditation.
Like i did. I was totally absorbed by meditation, all that time ignoring my feelings because 'being awareness' was my higher self, my real core being, or whatever,... guess what.
I was wrong, i mistook the 'tool' for the 'remedy'.
Imo the aim of the game is to use the meditative concentration skills to absorb oneself in ones inner world of feelings for example...
And don't you dare tell me the ocean is afraid to lose itself in the waves! :mad2:

I'll say it once more...

The ocean includes all the waves

This 'inclusiveness' is compassion

But you are not including the waves, you just want to be the ocean!
You talk but there is no feeling in what you say.
You use perfect logic constructs but they only reduce everything to one thing.
And that one thing is your overvalued and overrated exagerated clinging to 'awareness', 'being' or whatever you call it.
Prove me wrong and debate the possibility of what i say. Dare to show yourself, the part you are neglecting...

Me think you are using a meditative super-state of consciousness to avoid your feelings.
Why do you avoid expanding and do you always contract into 'awareness' only?
What is your fear about feelings, about the content of awareness?
Why only the best? What is wrong everything else?
Chronic is it possible that your enlightenment is preventing your enlightenment so to speak?

While I don't know if Chronic is doing this, having lived around and worked with many folk on the spiritual path I have come to this conclusion about many of them. Feelings are very messy, to be fully human is very messy and often feels downright uncomfortable. It is tempting to clean it all up with emptiness.
