Icelander said:
This is the new agers version of the Christian God.  The intelligent awareness out there that really has most all the attributes of a God when you get down to it.

Let's face apparent facts as we know them. Nobody knows what is going on in infinity. Is it aware? Is it conscious? Is it pie in the sky with our name written on a piece? Nobody knows. Honest folk will admit it.

Theres nothing new age or old age about it
Any being that will ever exist or has ever existed, has this Awareness

Awareness is Infinity, this experience is possible in a human body
I am not being dishonest by saying it, its simply true
This shouldnt be offensive, only a finite mind will find it offensive

Its not rude for me to say the experience is possible as i know it to be possible for you!
Im not saying you can't experience it, but i can
This is everyones...

Ahimsa said:
How can you be aware without subject?
How could you tell?

I mean i'm meditating and my awareness expands beyond my body, into the room, into the house, into the neighbourhood, into the world, into space... but all that time my awareness was about something.

I don't think i can be aware without an object. See, something has to reflect awareness, what else is awareness measured by?

Are you sure that when you meditate you are not aware of 'something'? Yourself perhaps?

This is cool... you notice Awareness growing & expanding to a wider & wider scale, all the while your being Aware of an object, just a bigger object
The mental projections still going outwards, just larger & larger...
Im saying go inwards, Awareness is not 'out there'
You are Awareness

Again your last question answers it for you
It is being Aware of your Self
Isit 'something'???

Ahimsa said:
Yeah, that's the impression i get from chronic.
He says that awareness is something beyond ourself.

Im constantly saying you are Awareness
So in what way do i say 'it is beyond you' ?
It is certainly beyond the mind
Are you the mind?
Or Awareness?

Im not saying its 'out there' go find it, run along now...
Im saying you are it, stop running

:peace:

Oh thank you for revealing your motives a bit here.

Actually that's a pretty ego driven stance. And since there is no proof that our minds comprehend infinity then you are saying that you have an awareness that goes beyond my mind. This is really funny. I must say you seem more and more religious to me all the time. The special club that needs no evidence. Oh well, if only we do as you say. But if we do and still don't have the effects you state then we just have a finite mind, unlike your infinite one.

How you sound.

I can be infinity (as energy) without having awareness beyond that of my primate brain.

I can take good news if it's true but often people with "good news" are trying to sell you something and the "good news" is really all about them making the sale.

Over and over here I have requested that you give any evidence to back your statements and over and over you refuse or avoid the issue with spiritual/religious quotes from the "masters".

You refuse to debate in good faith, you refuse to use the forum that is designed for ideas that do not need proofs.

Well it's just sad IMO.

But that is exactly the point, i don't think that i am awareness.
I think my awareness is because of my actions and my actions are because of my awareness.
They are dependent upon each other.
I don't think that i am only awareness. I so much more.
I don't think i can be aware without there being something to be aware of.
Try it for yourself.
As long as you are aware then there is an object of your awareness.
Can you be awareness without an object of awareness?
How can you tell that you are aware if there is no object of this awareness?
It's not possible imo.

Therefore i say that we are all the things we are and that includes awareness, thought, mind, feeling, etc... sorry but just being awareness doesn't cut it for me. It seems to be shortsighted.
But, again as i said before, i may be wrong. :ohwell:

Im not tryna sell you anything

Heres the problem, you want evidence of infinity, i say experiencing pure Awareness is the only evidence, its experiential, how many times do i have to say its experiential before you stop asking for physical proof!?
I rarely quote so im not sure who your thinking about...

I always try to debate in good faith, but mostly ice your replies towards me are just banter, you very rarely hear me out to allow a debate, when you do, if you look back, we''ve had great discussions & debates, you really can't talk to me about not debating in good faith with some of the replies you throw up round here, when someone intelligently replies to any of my posts, i will have a friendly debate with them...if they just spew forth sarcastic & cynical comments...

I use the forum that doesnt require proof when i make a thread about something that doesnt require proof, if i get in a conversation about spirituality or Awareness in this forum, im in this forum, im not gonna suggest moving a conversation elsewhere, it would break the flow...

Jeez get over this whole forum thing already

Chronic, why only awareness?
Awareness needs to be about something.
Even self-awareness is about something. It's about awareness.
Are you sure that when you say we are awareness, you mean we can be self-aware.
Because most of the time people lose themselves into all kinds of activities so they don't have to be self-aware. That can be painful at times...
But we are so much more than awareness or self-awareness. We can be creative, imaginative, thoughtful, playful, loving, etc...
Are you sure you aren't trying to hide in this meditative state of self-absorption of self-awareness?
You tell me.

Anyway, i'm gonna watch my movie:

Bye cya laterz...

When it comes to Awareness, as soon as its spoken every word has become untrue
Any expression of it is untrue, as Infinity is inevitably inexpressible
Yet trying to express it is wonderful

Life inevitably leads to death
Yet living it is still wonderful
