The Men who Stare at Goats
    #11312324 - 10/24/09 01:58 PM (14 years, 5 months ago)

New Movie coming out with George Clooney based on the book 'The Men Who Stare at Goats' (2004) by Jon Ronson about the U.S. Army's exploration of New Age concepts and the potential military applications of the paranormal. The title refers to attempts to kill goats by staring at them.

The book examines connections between paranormal military programs and psychological techniques being used for interrogation in the War on Terror. The book traces the evolution of these covert activities over the past three decades, and sees how they are alive today within U.S. Homeland Security and post-war Iraq. It examines the use of the theme tune to Barney the Dinosaur on Iraqi prisoners-of-war, the smuggling of a hundred de-bleated goats into the Special Forces command centre at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, and the connection between the U.S. military and the mass-suicide of a cult from San Diego.

Although the movie trailer makes it look like a spoof, the mystical theme should really get the muffin-heads all agog.

My bad. The center paragraph is cut & paste from Wiki. They are talking about psychological torture - kind of like when I read yet another 2012 article...

Then your village and all its inhabitants need to convert to the modern global society. :sadyes:

I read this book several years back.  The nuttiness of some of these people continues to amaze me.

I don't stare at goats but I am willing to pay $4.19 a quart for their milk.  It grosses me out I don't like goats all that much and can't imagine milking one (OK I want it so bad I can taste it) but still their milk is yummy (OMG Imagine sucking some directly from the faucet!) cause cows milk is garbage (and Jesus those things weigh too much to take down and actually get romantic with) and I won't drink it.

When you say used to did the cow kick him and finish that shit?  Cause that's some sick shit (GodDamn how'd he actually corral and fuck a COW?  I'm impressed and jealous).  You say from your mother's side what's her story?

That's OK you don't have to talk about your mom (what's to talk about?  she made that goat BLEAATTTT).

I'm hoping you are kidding if not scratch this entire post and you have my best wishes.
