My relationship with God
    #10691481 -

Relationship means to communicate and interact with another. It is a two-way deal; an exchange. It requires both parties to respond to one another.

For example; one can be related to a coma victim, but cannot have a current and  active relationship with him/her.

As God is totally non-responsive; it is impossble to have a relationship with it.

Amen.

perhaps he is responsive in ways that you fail to notice. Maybe its you who is non-responsive. Just like a person with communication issues in a relationship.

Maybe this, maybe that. :blah:

Maybe the Son of Sam did his victims a favor. Maybe Jim Jones was truly a Messiah.

Maybe Christian America did not kill enough Muslims to please him. Maybe Islamist extremists failed in their Holy War.

Who-the-fuck knows? Make up whatever crap you want and call it God's will.

A question:  if God is impossible to have a relationship with, then what about a relationship with the divine?

Substituting a similar-meaning word does not change anything.

If I write a letter to 'the divine', what do you think will happen?

you'll get presents under your tree at xmas time?!  :yesnod:

What if the response is undetected by your senses?  Is that allowed?

must a relationship be of language?

Of course not.  I have a relationship with my cat: she bitches and I feed her.

But shouldn't a relationship be perceived to be real?  If I have no stimulus to respond to, then how am I in a relationship?

A rock to the back of the head. When this happens, (unless it is done too exuberantly) every conscious human with functional nerves will agree that it hurts, is unpleasant and is very, very real!

Compare this to God's Will which varies from non-existent to feeding children to to invading foreign countries.

Not true.
I get responses.
We have a relationship.

I have never induced any kind of mind altering substance in my life  and i have no intentions whatsoever of doing anything illegal.
If I have ever suggested such a thing it would have most likely been , due to my personality disorder and i probably do not remember it at all..

I'm very much doubtful that "God's" will has much to do with anything in recorded history.

Is this an empirical relationship?  Can you pin down the last time that you were responded to?  How many times in a month?  How many times in a year?

God is the pulsating orgasmic creative force that emanates from every atom in the universe(multi-verse.)  God can, did, does, and will communicate THROUGH you (not simply to you) by first organizing an incredibly elaborate, seemingly random sequence of events that produces the conditions necessary for your existence along with the existence of the entire universe and then by allowing you to live and die and to dissolve back into the chaos of non-being only to be squirted out into various other manifestations of it's throbbing, booming, comic/cosmic life play.

It's all BECOMING all RIGHT NOW.

whether your dials are tuned or not.
