I know this. The Ayahuasca forum guys are snobs. When I told them I was a self trained shaman they started gushing baloney about needing to trained by a "native shaman". Native shaman? You mean some drunk who fleeces the tourists with a fake little ceremony and a drink or two of Ayahuasca? I can handle more drugs than any of them...bastards.

I have never done ayahuasca, but I have never heard an ayahuasca experience that I haven't had the same thing happen on mushrooms.

Seriously, it is different. There are some commonalities, but many differences. The auditory part of the experience is much more pronounced.

I compared the Aya purge to a frat party kegger purge and they went ballistic.

"NO, NO, NO! It is NOT your body rejecting plant tannins and the increased body serotonin levels that causes nausea, but your holding onto old emotional traumas that are let go when you purge."

Um, OK, but how come people still purge after hundreds of trips? Are their infinite emotional traumas that need purging?

Actually it is the harmaline that does the trick. I once took the harmaline alone in the same amount and got all purge...no trip :frown:
The purging can become quite emotional, but it can also be good. If you take a shower after such a purge you feel real clean...inside and out!

The harmaline may be enough alone to set you off, but the other two factors are clear contributors. Do a Google search on serotonin and nausea.
