Hogwash and the Ayahuasca Forum

Not here but at www.ayahuasca.com. It is one giant M&P. I guess peer pressure is how many myths get perpetuated as the wackier the stuff you post there, the more you are accepted. I prefer truth over fun ideas and social acceptance, but to each his own; just don't expect me to gush over Daniel Pinchbeck's tripe or take McKenna as factual.

You spelled Ayahuasca wrong in your link.

That forum is more spiritually/mysticism based, and there tend to be more "out there" ideas, but everyones view is valid.  How can you deny someone else's subjective expreience.

Out of curiosity OC, have you ever tried Ayahuasca?

Yes, I have tried it. I never deny someone else's experience, but their conclusions. Those are are very separate things although frequently commingled.

For example:

Contention: Organic foods have a different vibe.
Fact: Sorry, just not true. Taste and chemical composition is identical.

Contention: Synthetic drugs have a different vibe than natural drugs.
Fact: No one can tell the difference as all molecules of the same configuration are identical no matter their source.

Contention: (Some)People see jungle creatures on their journey because the vine is an integral part of the jungle.
Fact: (Some)People STILL see jungle creatures even when taking syrian rue (Middle East) and Desmanthus Illinoiensis (American mid west) instead of camels or corn. It is all about expectation and nothing to do with any 'Plant Mind' or 'Jungle COnsciousness'.

Contention: Ayahuasca enhances ESP.
Fact: Ayahuasca enhances the delusion of ESP. No one has yet been able to demonstrate ESP under controlled conditions.

On and on it goes: angels, aliens, demons, etc.

I know I take the fun out of it, but I am looking for something solid, not mere fantasy.

A recent post about a scientific breakthrough in the assemblage of RNA was presented. Here is the typical mindset there:

"I like it... but where's the love? I can't accept an explanation for life that leaves out the loving intelligence of creation that runs through it."

He HAS to have a feel-good component for it to make sense to him. Now why is that?

All my posts in this forum are strictly fictional.
They are derived from an acute mental illness , from which i am forced to lie compulsively.
I have never induced any kind of mind altering substance in my life  and i have no intentions whatsoever of doing anything illegal.
If I have ever suggested such a thing it would have most likely been , due to my personality disorder and i probably do not remember it at all..

Whenever I'm working with RNA in the lab I make sure I spend a few minutes lovingly gazing at the test-tube to help stabilise it.

I an getting a hunch that someone will post something about 'The Secret Life of Plants' soon. I hear they grow better when you talk to them. Of course, has NOTHING to do with CO2 and everything to do with the love vibes.
