The Union (United states) fought in the cival war to end slavery and this is how the black community thanks them for it. They have also threatened to storm the treasury if their demands are not met. LOL

I am in favor of slavery reperations. Everyone that has owned a slave should pay reperations to everyone that has ever been a slave.

The actual victims of Germany and Japan were still around to recieve their reparations. I agree with paying reparations to anyone who was enslaved. No great-great grandkids, though.

Also, this would be paid for by millions of people who's ancestors were not even in America until after slavery was banned.

I can't wait until Condi Rice is president. She can kick Jesse Jackson in the balls with impunity.

I don't think reparations should actually be paid, because I don't think there are any slaves around, for one, and secondly I don't think that there's any feasible way of paying it off. Maybe we could find out the actual number of slaves that were still alive when the 40 acres and a mule promise was made, figure out the dollar value owed, and send a cheque to every black person for $0.12 or whatever.

I still think someone should get some shit for not following through on the promise.

I bought The Source today. For the first
time ever. It was pretty good.

But there was an ad for shoes calling for
reparations. It was kind of weird. A few
slogans about reparations and a picture
of a shoe and the company's logo.

So, I guess if you're a black person you're
supposed think that reparations are something
good.

There was a little article about a guy who
got seized land back, too. The government
had seized his grandfather's land in the
forties or something. Maybe not the forties.
But then the government gave it back to
this guy.

I don't know if reparations are a good idea
or not.

if they actually did give people 40 acres and a mule instead of money, it would probably backfire. Seems like a good thing to get free stuff, 40 acres is alot of land, but what would happen probably is a large chunk of shitty land(wyoming or something) would be set aside for the people intitled to reperations, mostly poor unemployed people would go there and it would be a huge reservation for black people. Therefore i think reperations are a bad idea, i'm just trying to save them the shitty future it will bring. Unless they build casinos on the african american reservation, then its ok.
