No real reason to make any drugs illegal.
People should be allowed to experiment and learn from their own mistakes.
They should follow warnings and be responsible, however.

If I'm an employer it's my business because maybe your work is poor and you work for me. So yes it is my business if it affects your life when it's on my time. On your time I don't care. IDK where I'm going with this. Meth is too fucked up to be legal

i think people get the terms 'legal' and 'decriminalized' mixed up.

i dont think any more drugs need to be 'legal'

i dont think growing mushrooms/pot in your house for personal use should be criminalized.

but what about cooking meth for personal use.. what about all this other shit..

too many questions and variables. how does one define 'personal use' ?

i cant even fathom the governmental initiative it would take to even try to enact a program to legalize drugs.

k im gonna go watch family guy

Basically what I think is that people are gonna do it anyway so you might as well make some money off of them.

Yeah, there would definetely be NO violence if people had easily obtainable cheap/pure methamphetamine.

Was that sarcasm? Because that's the most overblown preposterous thing I've read in a long time.

lol I just edited what you quoted me on in my original post. I thought about it and I now believe it wouldn't get rid of it for good. There would most likely still be smuggling and competition from criminal organizations trying to provide cheaper than government drugs, but the point is you wouldn't necessarily have to go through them.

Which part? There were two quoted. Or maybe both?

Quick point of fact:

Methamphetamine is psychologically addicting, but it is NOT physically addicting. Just like Ecstasy.

Also, methamphetamine is a natural substance. It occurs naturally in at least two species of plants. Ecstasy does not. It is made in a laboratory.

From that point of view, nicotine is worse than methamphetamine because it IS physically addicting.

I find the whole "my drug should be legal but yours should be illegal" mindset disgusting and hypocritical. It's what George Bush and company do when they drink a cocktail and debate the best way to imprison marijuana users.

4) We need a smaller, less-intrusive government.

Please lets not compare alcohol to heroin and methamphetamine. There is no comparison.

Why do you say theres no comparison? The damaging effects can be just as bad if not worse. You can die from alcohol withdrawals, the same can't really be said for heroin withdrawals (although they can cause you to become very ill and weaken your immune system). For some people it's very easy to become addicted to alcohol.

No. It comes from the Physician's Desk Reference entry on Methamphetamine. The PDR is where all the available pharmacological data for the entire US pharmacopoeia is compiled.

For those who don't know, the PDR is the gold standard of prescribing information used by the medical industry.

It lists physical dependence as a risk for drugs that really do carry that risk: heroin, cocaine, meperedine, alcohol, nicotine, and others.

While methamphetamine and amphetamine are powerfully (psychologically) addictive substances, there is no PHYSICAL withdrawal involved in the cessation of their use.

Because I don't feel there's as much abuse potential when it comes to alcohol as there is with strong opiates. Sure there's abuse potential, you can abuse just about anything. But when you put the two side by side one outweighs the other (heroin). You can see it as fact or just as my personal opinion, but whatever

But there is a strong physical need for the substance while you are in the depths of a habit. Try telling a meth addict their addiction is 'all in their head' and isn't actually physical.

Re: Drug Legality Poll [Re: Robo]

There is only a psychological need.

A physical need is what happens when you withdraw from heroin and get flu-like symptoms for a week. That does not happen with methamphetamine.

When you stop taking methamphetamine, you immediately start getting better. When you stop nicotine or heroin, you get worse first (physical withdrawal), and a week later you start getting better.

Chubba, since you have personal experience I'll ask you. During your meth habit did you have physical symptoms or needs to have your meth? Or was it "all just in your head".
