Don't take this personally, but....

whiterastahippie: not entirely true. you can't hold all christians responsible for what some christians do.

We can't hold ALL Christians responsible, but we can hold MOST Christians responsible.

besides, the bible says to respect the laws of your country unless they come in conflict with the laws of God.

I can respect that belief.

and so when weed gets legalized, millions of christians will change their tune. like my dad. he won't smoke until it becomes legal. and when it does, it won't be a "sin". but yes, you are mostly right. at least, to me.

Don't you understand the circularity of this?
WEED WON'T BE LEGALIZED BECAUSE THE MORAL MAJORITY (primarily CHRISTIANS) THINKS WEED IS BAD!!!

So, you're basically saying that
1. X is illegal because the Moral Majority, composed primarily of C, doesn't want X legalized.
AND
2. C would think X is okay if it were legal, but it's not because C doesn't want X legalized.

Again, my intentions are not to offend you.

So basically what you are saying is that:

X(eXtacy) which = E(Extacy)

where E is illegal (or not equal to)

the (laws of the ) Moral Christians(MC) or Majority Christians(MC) or MC2

therefore:

E<>MC2?

Thusly you are debunking the basis of Einsteinian theory?

the bible says to resect the laws of your country unless they come in conflict with the laws of God.

But in Genesis is states clearly that God gave us dominion over all herbs and seed-bearing plants. Don't remember reading any exceptions. So man-made laws DO conflict with the Bible in this regard.

I was just about to post this. "God gave to man all seedbearing plants to use as his meat." I think thats very close to the exact line in Genesis.

well then swami! you fuckin rasta rock dude! you just solved the weed smoking problem for all christians. it can't be wrong if you look at it that way!!!! can i hug you? just kidding. damn though...really, the moral majority isn't what's keeping it illegal. more people smoke than not...i've been on multiple continents and smoked with the majority of people i actually talk too everywhere i go. it's the government keeping it illegal at this point. what you say may have been true in the past, but back then, most of the lies and falsehoods about marijuana put forth by the DEA were believed by most people. that's not so these days. even my super religious mother thinks it's not bad. my priest thinks it should be legal. my best friend in seminary want's to join norml. the government is definately the ones responsible for it still being illegal. they get so much money and stuff wehn they bust drug dealers. especially drug lords. they just don't realize that they would make more money if they taxed the hell out of it.
i don't think it's the moral majority at all. but hey, that's me.

yeah, you can hold most christians responsible, but most don't even dwell in first rate countries. there's lot o' christians in africa, ukraine, south america, and they don't do anything really horrible. the majority of christians in north america and europe are what you say. but not all. and the majority of christians as a whole aren't in europe and north america.

and atheism...hasn't been around longer. as long as beings have been sentient, at whatever point that happened in our evolution, they have had religions of some sort. the sun. bhaal. great spirits. jews. taoism. eastern religions in particular have been around for a long time. man is a very religious being. people may have denied religion before, but never has there been such a surge of people all at once that denied the existence of a higher power of some sort.

I'm gonna be short about it. I believe that todays religions in 100 years will be looked at much like the Salem witch trials are now. You decide if our thoughts now now are more evolved than those from the days of witchcraft and sorcery.

I have to agree. In five hundred years Christianity will be studied in high school as a mythology.
