Frost????? Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!

bolinad all,
just a few questions about this seasons yealds and lenght of the season. I have been picking in the somerset and dorset region for the last few weeks very unsuccessfully, 50 libs max in about 5 hunts. The fields i have picked for many years and usually we pick thousands of libs. I know the season has been abnormally late but it seems certain that there will be a frost tonight or tomorrw especially in the higher fields. So i am worried will the season be over after this frost or will it continue until mid november. if any experts know the area or the termination conditions for the season could they please let me know it would be very helpful.

when you start seeing consistant freezes, the season will end. untill then, occasional frosts will present little/no problem.

Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it.
If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.

were due a frost every night for the next week so dont get ya hopes up too much of finding many more this season!

u might escape the frost down south if u are lucky.

BUT... there is still some hope, cos on the long range weather forecast i saw, it seems that it will get milder again after this week of cold weather, so...  :grin:

seems like alot of uk lib hunters are struggling this year but my patches have been as good as ever hmmmmm...

btw i dont think the lib season was particularly late this year... i found my first ones in the middle of september :thumbup:
