Is The UK Season Truly Over?

Hey everyone,

I woke up this morning and headed over to my usual spot hoping to find as many libs as possible.

After searching for around thirty minutes it was clear there was nothing out there to be found. The field is normally covered in shrooms but unfortunately the only thing in sight was sheep.



Has anyone had any luck recently? Its starting to get cold as hell here in Scotland. I think the season could well and truly be over for another year! :sad:

i live in scotland but i don't really know anywhere they grow around here, i've not seen any about at all.

I tried once to find some libs that i was told there are tons of, never found any.

So i grew my own (not libs though) much easier :smile:

It hasn't rained in a few days so the grass was considerably dryer than usual which could be the reason there was no sign of any shrooms but it sure has been FREEZING cold recently!

i wouldn't say it has even really started around my town on the north east coast of england. There has hardly been any fungi about here when in previous years there was loads all over the shop.

I have seen some mushrooms from place to place, but the grassland species here are non existant part from a couple of inky caps. Even they haven't survived long.



It was raining quite abit last night and todays weather has been mostly rain so far. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed!

heres my forecast for the latter half of today and tomorrow, looks perfect lib weather to me :wink:



but the temps are going to plummit tomorrow night though so that could well spell the end for the little guys...

i find hunting much easier than growing. once you know where to look its just a matter of picking thousands of them :wink:

The weather looks considerably lower up here in Scotland than it does down in England at the moment. Are you planning on going out hunting tommorow? You might be able to show me up with some shroom pics :grin:

yes fella, its all coming from the north so naturally u get it first :tongue:

yup im off out in the morning, will probably be my last hunt of the year looking at the forecast for the next couple of weeks :yesnod:

dont lose hope anyway, i found plenty growing in the frost last weekend :wink:

Unfortunately i'm working tomorrow up until 3:30pm but i might head on out after it for one last hunt.. i dont want to give up just yet!

I found 61 today in Yorkshire.
It was getting colder and colder as the day went on,, fuckin freezing high up on the hillside.

This'll be my last mission out,, i've had fun this season though..
