Help me identify these uk shrooms.

Hey guys,

I was walking home yesterday from my usual hang out spot, and i looked on some moist wood chippings and there were quite a few shrooms there, i picked a load and took them home.

I did a spore print and it came out brown. Ive herd they have to be purple to be active?

Sounds like you found some mushrooms. You need a better description than that and some photos would help.

Well i dont have a digi cam, and my mum is in at the moment so i cant get them out to describe, i'll write a description later on.

You think they could be active? Or edible to trip?

I doubt anyone is going to be able to tell ya just from the info so far, unless they're pyshcic. When u can post more details. Whatever you do DON'T EAT them until someone makes a positive ID for ya

Really? Damn, what about ones growing in woods in the uk at this time, cus there was some i saw, they had like a blue, purple, green, liquid kinda thing on the top of cap.

If you're trying to ID the same shrooms as me I'm pretty sure it's Agrocybe praecox:

Dude, i dont know much about mushrooms or anything, but i can tell you from the ammount of patience you have you are going to eat something posionus and die because you can't take the time to post a good description or a picture...but then again, i dont know nearly as much as these guys so listen to them not me

uk_shroomer - agrocybes are NOT active... please don't even consider eating something until you're 100% sure that it's active and not poisonous.

basically that means that if you find any mushrooms you're going to have to find a way to take some good quality photos of it from several angles (gills, cap, stem), post them up here and wait for some experienced people to make an ID

Some advise to our over eager newb: GOOGLE IS AN AMAZING TOOL.

You know the species, why not just search it on google and check the edibility?

You could even buy yourself a book on mushrooms and read about it there (gasp!)

Laziness is not something that we like around these parts. And being over eager to find an active just screams "hey man, i don't really care about mushrooms at all, i'm just a teenager looking for an easy high."
We don't like that either, it's insulting to a lot of us who passionately like mycology. Please do everyone a favor and keep the "dude i 1 2 git fuxx0r" attitude to yourself. It would make you a much more respectable person.

This is not a flame, it's advise on how to be a better member of this community... no need to take anything I said personal.
