and you've swallowed what they were feeding too phred at the outset of the war.

Yeah...its all the democrats fault. keep believing that. They have shown no balls throughout this, and are equally to blame for the state of the war, but someboby signs the checks. As paradignm said, the buck definitely does not stop on bush's desk. Everything he does is to pass blame onto somebody else. A good president would be based in reality and would not sugar coat everything. And for the president to even suggest that war critics are unpatriotic is shameful.

as a side: i'm quite shocked at the number of conservatives in a shroom forum. Do you all support the drug war too?

In case you didn't know, being conservative doesn't necessarily mean that they are against drugs.

Conservative means they are against big gov't and high taxes.

I feel no shame at believing Hussein had not accounted for the destruction of the WMD stockpiles and programs he was known to have possessed, seeing as how in fact Hussein had not accounted for same -- as every major intelligence service in the world, the UN, Clinton, Clinton's cabinet, and major Democrats pointed out before the war began.

For the Dems to now pretend they believed otherwise is not just unpatriotic, it's folly. In the old days it was easy for things to vanish down the memory hole. These days with the Internet and Lexis-Nexis it's impossible. They make themselves look like idiots by claiming they were somehow duped into believing these things by the evil genius Bush when in fact they had been duped into believing these things by Clinton and his gang. As for how the intelligence services of Germany, France, Russia, Britain and others were duped, we get no answer. Or how the UN was duped. Or for that matter how Hussein's generals themselves were duped.

Despite what the government tells you, the ingestion of mushrooms does not make you stupid.

Democrats Deny Having Pre-War Intelligence
by Scott Ott

(2005-11-11) ? Democrats in Congress today rejected President George Bush?s accusation that they?re trying to rewrite history, which shows they supported the Iraq war based on the same intelligence that drove his decision to send in the troops.

?We had no pre-war intelligence,? said Sen. John Kerry, ?History will show that none of the leading Democrats had substantial intelligence. Anyone who remembers what we did then knows that the president is making a baseless allegation. I think history will bear out my contention that we Democrats lacked the intelligence to make such an important decision.?

The junior Senator from Massachussetts said he continues ?to faithfully support the troops who uselessly die for a lie in Iraq.?

?Our troops deserve to know that their elected leaders who voted to send them to war will remain firm in our conviction that we didn?t know what we were doing at the time,? Sen. Kerry said. ?It?s important, on Veteran?s Day, to remember that our Democrat commitment to our military hasn?t changed.?

White House spokesman Scott McClellan repeated his categorical denial that the Bush administration ?ever manipulated anyone?s intelligence or ignorance.?

Hey...um i agree the democrats are stupid, so just because i don't agree with war and Bush don't go lumping me in with them. i did say they're equally to blame. After everything, when the smoke has cleared, the Iraq war will be seen as a big mistake. Believe what you want to believe, but we spend millions everyday over there to transform Iraq, but its a fragmented ideological soicety. You can not force democracy on a people or get two opposites to agree suddenly. The removal of Sadaam, granted he's evil, will not change much. We will need to have troops present for dozens of years just to avert civil war. We have problems here in America we can focus on, and it would garner us more international cooperation if we stopped playing the world police and focused on being the city on the hill instead of naive crusaders. Thats my 2 cents.
