Now even Bush admits WMD doubts

Julian Borger in Washington and Richard Norton-Taylor
Saturday January 31, 2004
The Guardian

George Bush finally conceded last night that there may be a problem over Iraq's missing weapons of mass destruction when he said he wanted to know why there were discrepancies between pre-war intelligence and the negligible material investigators had found on the ground.

He said he "wanted to know the facts" about any intelligence failures but he refused to endorse calls for an independent investigation.

Mr Bush's comments are likely to add pressure on Tony Blair to comment on why Iraq's banned weapons have not been found. In the run-up to the war he said Saddam Hussein's WMD posed a "real and present danger to this country".

more bullshit is yet to come. I remember about two years ago or so it was... i wanted to be a writer. I thought of this scenario that was going to happen in the coming years that would change the face of our government, something that we didnt expect, something hidden from us. A response to a global change, and what some people in the government had done wrong. They took out that majority, but replaced it with something worse.

I can only hope this doesnt happen. Whatever bullshit that is going on now, im sure there is more to it than we have yet seen so far. It is only a sign of what lays beneath.

If they had been inspecting like they said they did, they would have had the truth, but seeing as how that their intelligence didnt prove so well, and people are resigning, i wonder what kind of screwed policies will be coming to light.

Makes me wonder if some people will drop out to cover other peoples asses. What a time of great bs, even at my job too, *sigh*.

Shame he didn't want to 'know the facts' before he went to war. The backpedalling program-related activities are in full swing.

The above is an extract from my fictional novel, "The random postings of Edame".

In the beginning was the word. And man could not handle the word, and the hearing of the word, and he asked God to take away his ears so that he might live in peace without having to hear words which might upset his equinamity or corrupt the unblemished purity of his conscience.

And God, hearing this desperate plea from His creation, wrinkled His mighty brow for a moment and then leaned down toward man, beckoning that he should come close so as to hear all that was about to be revealed to him.

"Fuck you," He whispered, and frowned upon the pathetic supplicant before retreating to His heavens.

somebody should put together a montage of Bush,Blair,Cheney etc stating conclusively that they KNOW there are wmds in Iraq to illustrate how monumentally incompetent our leaders are. They could play We suck young blood by Radiohead in the background!

Indeed. It's just a matter of time before they appoint a scapegoat and begin the crucification of him/her/them.

It's just a stategy.

His advisors told him not to admit it until it was absolutely nessessary, i'm sure. The time has passed for denial. He has to admit it now, except that he'll pass the blame to the CIA or someone else.

Judging by the current 911 investigation council set up by the Bush Administration, and the outcome of the Blair/Hutton whitewash in Great Britain, I doubt it would prove very fruitful.
