If I were to boil down some mushroom tea with citric acid would I then be left with a psilocin/cybin citrate powder?

many people (including myself) have been taught that psilocybin is not stable enough to withstand any intense heat such as that of boiling water. Unfortunately it would seem that heat just makes them unactive.

Then again, it never hurts to try if you have the resources to spare. I'd say go for it and see. Just be sure to document carefully, so that if you discover something you have a more valid argument in favor of it, when the criticism starts getting flung.

Boiling water certainly doesnt break it down when expose to 30-60 minutes or less, at least not much..but to boil off the water, that would take alot of time and you would end up with no potency, if there were crystals at all. Thats why they do extractions with alcohol, it evaporates quickly at room temp..you can do that to get crystals..not with water though Im fairly sure.
