Freebasing psilocyn and psilocybin into pure cristals can be done! The link below is about DMT extraction, but you can use it also for extraction of cactus- or mushroomalkaloids. (Both are alkaloids and react therefor in the same way to this chemical treatment). No high temperatures are used in this proces!

If you find this all to complicated, you can also perform a simple methanol extraction, but than you wil end up with a tar-like goo (which is of course also very potent).
To do this, you just have to grind your dried mushies as good as possible, put the mushroompowder in a jar, add methanol until all powder is submerged, let this mixture stand for at least five days, shaking it at least once a day and then strain it trough a coffee filter. Keep the strained liquid in another jar and put the mushroompowder back into the first jar and cover it again with methanol, etc... just repeat the whole proces three times, combine your 3 mehanol extracts and let evaporate. But be carefull!!! Methanol is highly flamable and toxic! To remove some last bits of methanol, you can redisolve the remaining tar-like goo in a bit of ethanol and than let it evaporate again.

Wow thanks everyone! To whom ever asked if this can only be done with mushrooms the answer is no. I have made salvia divinorum extract using same method.
I will see what I get with Isopropyl after I do a bulk tek over break.

I think that psilocybin is present as soon as mycelium forms. Hence the reason why only Ps. spores can be bought legally, and not liquid Ps. culture.
