Re: Thoughts on my banishment [Re: shirley knott]

I am not enjoying this drama
it's bringing down the entire site, since this shit
bleeds over into other forums

I think the admin and mods should have been clear about things from the beginning
all we have here is more "project OTD" type crap
(we're doing something good, we just can't let you know what it is)

this is just the internet-but it's a community most of us like VERY MUCH
and this WAY too stretched out drama is hurting it.

alot of what I post is garbage too
but the difference is I'm not asking for people to look up to me
and do what I say.
moderators have a responsibility to this place to be
above all the pettiness and drama
NOT to be a stir stick for the drama
and NOT to add fuel to the fires by perpetuating it
by posting sarcastic remarks and asking for the drama to continue

I don't know swami & I haven't read anyof his posts
I don't care about him or his banning

I do care about this place and it's future and how it's ran

Sounds like there is more to the story then we know.

Why can't the moderators just be open and honest in this situation? I suppose it is against the rules to reveal all information about the case? I have some faith in the mods and suspect that there is more to the story then we are seeing. If what we are seeing is all there is to the story, then the mods are possibly having too much fun with their temp ban abilities.

Everyone knew Swami would come back and post about his banning. His initial ban was a big issue, and generated a lot of posts. Obviously the person who all these posts were about would be expected to come back and make a post of his own.

Was it necessary for Swami to start 4 different threads about it? No. Perhaps the mods should have locked his threads about the issue down to one.

He received multiple warnings? If you are talking about shirley's "Can't you move on?" comments in this thread, I don't think those are nearly formal enough to constitute an actual warning.

I got tired with the discussion over the first ban. I knew he'd be back in a few days, so the temporary ban didn't really matter, and was just a wake up call for Swami. But now it seems the mods are just completely flaunting their power by banning him as soon as he got back.

Someone else in this thread also brought up an interesting point. I realize this is a private site and all of the visitors are all truly priveledged to get to enjoy such a place. But is this a representative democracy of sorts or a dictatorship? Are the mods here to enforce the will of the community, or are we here to live under the whims of the mods? If a majority of the effected community disagrees with the mods' decision, then should the decision be reversed because it is the wish of the community?

Blah blah blah, I hate making posts that are more than a paragraph long.

Re: Thoughts on my banishment [Re: Swami]

Swami was banned first, for Swami trolling... and ignoring warnings.

When he came back, he was banned for refusing to change his behavior... like he had been asked to during his 14 day ban. If you get banned for ignoring warnings... then come back and ignore more warnings, you get banned again. No matter how popular you are. That is how bans work.

I am sorry if Shirl's warnings were not clear. Shirl's from England. Shirl's first language is English... not American... sometimes things get lost in translation... but Shirl tries.

Then something BEAUTIFUL happened. Swami posted as his puppet, but forgot to mask his IP. Swami's been posting as this puppet for TWO weeks... all through his last ban... we suspected him... but couldn't prove it until he FUCKED up soooooo big. HA!

Mods and Admins have banned for puppetry for a long time... but it seems... that isn't a good enough reason for the SFC (Swami Fan Club).

The irony is... Swami presented all the evidence needed... he posted the HARD evidence everybody seemed to want... but by now, it seems many people have been BLINDED. Either THAT, or they forget that puppetry is against the TOS.

I have dealt with OTHER people who Swami-troll... and I have received some public backlash for it... but I keep good LOGS of behavior... so I can prove my bans. The thing about Swami-trolls... is the trolling itself happens over many MONTHS or YEARS... it happens over PM and in public... and it takes a VERY LONG TIME to assemble the logs... and reading these logs can be a mess.

I gotta say, in Swami's case... I'm glad this info has been kept private. First... the same people who are bitching now... after 2 bans and a puppet attack (don't you guys see how Swam's manipulating you? He just needed one puppet... you all did the rest... I won't call you idiots, but I may think it.) You people would bitch no matter what. You aren't behaving rationally... therefore, we will keep OUR evidence private thx. Besides Swami's doing a fine job of giving you better evidence than we ever had.

you want respect, right? you want moderators to be taken seriously, right?
you want people to do what you( moderators) say, right?

moderators of any site should be looked up to and respected,
because they help to maintian a place you like to visit.
but when mods act and say disrespectiful things
they will never get respect and instead of being looked up to
people start looking down upon them and that hurts ALL of us.

you've have said in your posts that you thought this was fun
(as in the drama is providing you with a good time)

Respect is relative.

I assure you, we Mods do not respect EVERYBODY in the community... but we DO respect the community itself. The OMC is bigger than just the Shroomery... and it is bigger than any ONE of us.

Just like community members, don't have to respect EVERY mod... but if you disrespect the COMMUNITY like Swami has... especially DURING his 2 week ban... well, you do the math.

This isn't hard to figure out.

A simple pereusal of the TOS would set most folks straight.

is swami banned again? i musta missed that. why isn't he here to take over hisyou some people take everything so seriously? if that is the litmus of a mod, then i am definitely a 0.0/10 failure deadbeat loser deadman walking. i try to take everything with a wry grin and a shrug. just my own way of dealing with the world - i try to see it as a long-running cartoon, with me as the central character. it makes life fun

HELLOOOOO:

Quote:
Seriously now: Swami came back with a puppet right in this thread and tried to poke up the fire by simplistic, misspelled remarks of some poor innnocent confused deer-eyed newbie who thought it was meeean that the mods were ganging up against Santa Claus.
.
You know what you're doing Swami. patting your crack troops on the back and then going to war against the management again and returning with a puppet to really rub it in.
.
I'm not a mod of Spir but I took my time giving my view in other threads about how Swami was sometimes insidiously inciting unrest. In this thread, with his puppet, he has given ample proof that he's out to stir up the people, just look at the wordings and how that would affect others.

Why didn't anybody DEAL WITH THIS?

I'll tell you. Because this made abundantly clear that Swami has been manipulating people, and it doesn't feel good that y'all stood in that line, asses lubed up to be puppeteered.

Swami didn't talk about his "banning" but his "banishing"
Oh hail exiled king! DRAMA.
Drama likely intended to stir up the struggle.

Swami's title upon return after the banning is "Lobotomized"
Oh poor one-flew-over-the-chuckoo's nest... DRAMA.
Drama likely intended to stir up the struggle.

Swami slipped up and used his own IP to steer a puppet, a bambi-eyed newbie who threw oil on the fire in his childlike innocense. DRAMA.
Drama likely intended to stir up the struggle.

Do we see a pattern emerging here? Get that hand outta your ass and think for yourself for a change. You all have been puppeteered.

Go check my post interactions with Swami from waaay before I even was a mod! You see nothing but sincere respect from my side for the Swami. I have no personal dislike of Swami but if you even just look in this single thread it is very obvious that you all have been had by a master manipulator.

Swami didn't break any rules? Well good con-men don't break any laws, but that doesn't make it ok. And whenever the laws change, the con changes.

But Swami has broken the "law". This pristine innocent angel of righteousness has been caught using a puppet to back his own point of view and to speak out against those who oppose him.
Deceptively.
Deceptively, people. Think about what several mods have stated throughout the threads and you actually see him DO IT, with dramatiozing little wordgames like banISHING and LOBOTOMIZED to create an image of pristine innocence, and then he brought in a puppet to defend him using... the illusion of pristine innocense, going as far as to actually include spelling mistakes and naive wordings.

So people.. DEAL WITH THIS.

No dodging, no blaming, no dissection of things beside my point, no going off-topic.. You want to debate by the rules well then do it.
Stirring up unrest, poking it up, dramatic wordings, and finally resorting to creating a DRAMA PUPPET.
I propose the word "SWAMA" for all this.

DEAL WITH THIS.

And about the Tsunami.. About 60.000 people have died, read the thread in the Pub and see how friends and relatives of Shroomerites are missing and possibly in peril.
And all across the Shroomery you see pics saying "SWAMI SOLIDARITY".
Where are the pics calling for TSUNAMI SOLIDARITY? Shroomerites are affected by that disaster and all you hear is Swami this, Swami that. Look at the viewings and postcount of the Tsunami action and thread, then look at the viewings & postcount of all this pointless SWAMA.

Get your head outta the sand, retrieve that puppeteer arm from your ass and start thinking again!!

I see bright young minds deluded by intrigue, staggering about in bewilderment, dripping vaseline on the Shroomery carpet as they are no longer led by the hand of their banned Master.

I'm an author, anyone who's in the know can twist words around and write or recognise a lil drama.. Interesting paragraph;)

Gee, puppetry is such an awful offense that the mods have ALLOWED IT TO CONTINUE in several cases KNOWING that such-and-such was merely a puppet account created to stir up drama in forum X.

I love how the mods act like we're all just fucking idiots being led around by the nose.

Get a clue, we're not idiots.

There are many people who cause far more drama than anything you could accuse Swami of causing. There are many more puppets who've done much worse than Swami's. Wank, wank, wank.

Remember: Everything still falls back to that first ban. The only evidence that has ever been shown to support that first ban can only be construed as grounds for warnings and a ban if the reader already holds a bias against the poster.

But hey, this isn't a democracy, right? There's no freedom of information act or some shit here, right? I guess we're SOL.

Hey, remember 2-3 weeks ago when Hippie3 came into OTD and we started blastin him/her for banning people just because they said things that Hippie3 didn't like? Yeah that was pretty cool.

So you're saying puppeteering should be dealt with firmly?
We're in agreement then. Swami must be dealt with hashly because he has puppeteered to cause drama.

Quote:

I show you how people are led around by the nose but you don't deal with it.

Quote:

So.. Swami HAS caused drama, it's just you consider his to be a minor vice? You're still not dealing with it.

Quote:

Nice diversion off-topic but you're still not dealing with it.

Quote:

Well the evidence in THIS THREAD proves that it was ALL REAL doesn't it? A puppet with a cleverly forged naive personality to stir up unrest. Cleverly forged to play his puppets. We're not falling for it, he forgot to cloak his IP.. this time. If there was a "bias against the poster", then this is proven to be justified.
HARD EVIDENCE.. and you're not dealing with it mah man!

Quote:
But hey, this isn't a democracy, right? There's no freedom of information act or some shit here, right? I guess we're SOL.

SOL? Seduced, bent Over and Lubed by a puppetmaster? I dunno what SOL is except Latin for our Sun, but if you mean that if you're wrong and the mods are right you are pretty OWN3D, then that about covers it, yes.
You wanted proof, and you got it. DEAL WITH IT.

Quote:
Hey, remember 2-3 weeks ago when Hippie3 came into OTD and we started blastin him/her for banning people just because they said things that Hippie3 didn't like? Yeah that was pretty cool.

Well, well.. gang mentality. That calls for police action. Cross the line and you will be banned. And here, after chronological answers to all your questions, we see evidence of a mentality of street justice where members gang up against moderator action.
Thank you for justifying my harshness.
Sometimes a forum NEEDS policing because some members behave like thugs.
