As for asking questions about his ban...that should preferably be done via PM with the administration.

What are you folks hiding?

It's obvious that the administration would prefer for this to be swept quietly under the rug, and all questions presented privately via PM to the administration so that the questioners can be patronized safely out of the view of the general public...

...However that's just not very realistic at this point now is it?

It's fallacy to suppose that a community of shroomheads won't be able to recognise bad government.

You've got half the community demanding answers, not just one or two, so you might as well do the righteous thing and just break down with the truth, and perhaps even an apology if one is due.

You know the community will forgive if you do that.

I sincerely hope that the mods and admins stop choking on pride and give this multitude of loyal members what they are asking for.

God I missed this DRAMA... and to think, I was concerned about the 20,000+ people who lost their lives in Asia a few minutes ago... now I can worry about the IMPORTANT stuff.

Hehehehehe...

All I want to say about THIS Swami situation is: The Mods Acted Unanimously, and we continue to do so. It is AMAZING how little faith the Swami Fan Club has in the Shroomery Staff's ability to protect their ungrateful little asses :smirk: . Same goes for you Swami. Why we haven't gone FULL disclosure on THIS HUGELY IMPORTANT ISSUE, I honestly can't say. Perhaps we know things the regular community members don't know. Perhaps these details will slip out eventually... perhaps Swam himself will 'fess to them. Perhaps Me, Shirl, Tren, and the rest of the Moderators, and Administration are entirely full of shit and we're sitting on the piles of GOLD this Website brings in... Time will tell, or maybe it won't. I kinda' hope it doesn't. This is too damn fun.

He knows what he's done. We know what he's done. He know's what we've done... and Swam should have a pretty good clue as to what we will do in the future.

Until then, have a beer, or a toke, think about how lucky we are to not be under water...

Then, cry some more. I like to read.

You can cut the Swama with a knife right now.

Peace.

Uhhhh? Who do we need to be protected from? Swami?

If you know something we don't, wouldn't it make sense to tell us (unless Swami has requested otherwise) and avoid further argument and confrontation?

Here's a pertinent point - it seems that the overwhelming majority of people want Swami unbanned unless some good reasons are given for making the decisions you made. Surely it would be for the good of everyone if you were to do so? I mean, trust would certainly be restored in you, Swami would be back and everyone who has expressed dissent would be happy.

I hardly know the guy, and I've stopped posting in S&P cos it was all S and no P, so this isn't a life or death issue for me, but comments like:

are surely only going to further incense people.

It just seems counter-productive and somewhat stubborn to not listen to the wishes of most people here.

just woke up - wow, this thing is still going. heh heh. you saddos.

there's no solution. i have no intention of posting my pms to swami here in public - the posts i made here that have got some so het up were merely reminders to him that i was not gonna just go away.

the otd thread was definitely the best, disintegrating into dead dog comedy: fuckknuckle had no chance against a true doglover like grizz, for whom nothing short of a national grieving day woulda been good enough. i feel sorry for poor hanky.

It's such a shame that Swami had to create a puppet to express his thoughts

I thought Spir & Phil was the place for martyr Worship..

Seriously now: Swami came back with a puppet right in this thread and tried to poke up the fire by simplistic, misspelled remarks of some poor innnocent confused deer-eyed newbie who thought it was meeean that the mods were ganging up against Santa Claus.

You know what you're doing Swami. patting your crack troops on the back and then going to war against the management again and returning with a puppet to really rub it in.

I'm not a mod of Spir but I took my time giving my view in other threads about how Swami was sometimes insidiously inciting unrest. In this thread, with his puppet, he has given ample proof that he's out to stir up the people, just look at the wordings and how that would affect others.

"How that would affect others", sound familiar? Several mods have used that phrase.

Swami, i'm actually disappointed in you. That puppet trick was cheap, and that after a long time to think through your strategy.

I'm not here to lay down the law, I'm here to mindlessly flap my head like happens throughout this thread.
Has anyone of these Righteous Shroomerites donated to the Tsunami victims yet? I can't believe the # of views and posts this thing gets, and Swami's ban alone got more protest then all other bans in the history of the Shroomery combined.

Discuss all you want, but read Swami's posts since he returned and take a good look at that puppet's actions.

Nothing harmful meant.......... I just don't understand what your doing.

Obviously I involved myself. Show where I implied I didn't.

Who said anything about being pissed off? I removed myself from the community (with the exception of posts revolving around the Swami thing, for now) for my own personal reasons, relating to my need to more effectively manage my time, as I have more important things to do. At the same time, the happenings of the whole Swami ordeal certainly allowed me to question whether or not this community would continue to be worth my time anyways.

The fact that Swami was promptly banned once more, without even acting in a manner that was questionable, but definitely not breaking the rules, showed to me that the problem wasn't just a one-time thing, but an integral part of a huge problem concerning certain moderators. The second banning was certainly a childish act, perhaps that of a ten year old, as you yourself described. I fail to see, breaking it down like this, how I myself am acting in a childish manner. I'd like for you to demonstrate this.

Hell, I live in America, I have to put up with enough incompetance and dictatorship as it is, when I am on my own free time, I'd rather not deal with it.

What exactly does the Tsunami have to do with Swami's banning? Oh, that's right, nothing. Opinions on Swami or the Tsunami are not mutually exclusive, but don't let that get in the way of dragging those deaths into the discussion to further an agenda.

I guess I've been harbouring a lot of misconceptions about the 'administration' here. This whole sorry saga has been a real eye-opener that's for sure.

The above is an extract from my fictional novel, "The random postings of Edame".

In the beginning was the word. And man could not handle the word, and the hearing of the word, and he asked God to take away his ears so that he might live in peace without having to hear words which might upset his equinamity or corrupt the unblemished purity of his conscience.

And God, hearing this desperate plea from His creation, wrinkled His mighty brow for a moment and then leaned down toward man, beckoning that he should come close so as to hear all that was about to be revealed to him.

"Fuck you," He whispered, and frowned upon the pathetic supplicant before retreating to His heavens.

Or it could be done in a forum specifically designed for feedback from the community. Of course, this is a much more public way of going about it, making the hypocrisy of those in charge more transparent, so I can see why you guys would be against that.

What fucking joke. No one had to be protected, by the first or second ban. If someone can't handle the criticism of their personal beliefs, I wonder if they're adult enough to be registered on a site with the content of this one.

Keep on protecting us fom Swami and everything else that goes bump in the night. :smirk:

Not to mention:

Bah, there is a list on page one of this forum concerning people asking for bannings, not to mention all of the recent discussion concerning Swami's first banning. Even if some held the expectation that Swami could not discuss his banning in public, that expectation would contradict all of the other threads of the same nature, and even then, would not actually break any rules. If we went out on a limb, it could be grounds for the moving or the deleting of this post, but a ban?

when moderators that want respect say things like this
you will never get respect because you don't deserve it
and by saying things like this you bring down the respect for all mods

also shirley knott
the things you say and your bait and switch tactics
are such garbage in my eyes
I honestly cannot believe you are a moderator
you have no respect.
I think you like the drama

I wish you both would take this as some constructive critisim
and not just a jab at you 2

please go back and reread the things you've said in your posts

admins, I mean no disrespect
but I seriously think you need to really look
at the things your moderators have been saying in this thread
some of it is down right disgusting & discraceful.

guilty as charged i expect - i definitely enjoy the drama

ah, come on. some people have been getting timeouts, but i bet you're enjoying the drama too? these people come back. i was banned for a couple days once for pissing off Moe, and i sure was miffed at the time (! i'm sure Anno remembers me pleading him to get it reversed). and me and Moe spoke on email several times after that on good terms.

this place isn't real, it's the internet. i admit that most of what i post is garbage, but that's ok by me - you don't have to read it. scroll down.
maybe the wheel will turn and there'll be a time he is green and i am not, and maybe he'll temp-ban me for a while. so what?

i have nothing against swami - like many here, i am extremely impressed by his mind and use of language. but nobody is immune to a few hours' timeout. if i have pissed off one of the admins, i'll get a few hours on the naughty step, too. mods can only give 24hours, anything longer has to come from an admin, by the way.

1. swami knew he was cooking up a potent batch of drama stew with his thread in waf. the best way to get an answer from an admin is to send a pm.

2. shirley was a bit aggressive and may not have given clear warnings.
