I think that, under the circumstances, a ban was not totally out of line...but that's as far as I can take it

Why do you think that? What rule did Swami break? Why did his thoughts presented in this thread deserve him a ban? Why was a quick banning the first step taken?

Well I think the fact that he took a personal grievence into a public place instead of taking it up with the admin in private, as is generally expected, had some bearing on the decision. I can only guess, though.

This little group of moderators reminds me of the Bush administration. They need no REASONABLE justification for their actions. All that is required is vague statements and reassurance of righteousness.
I think everyone needs to sit back and look at this objectively and rationally. Swami did nothing that any sane person would consider disruptive. He asked questions.
It may be a touchy subject since the first unjustified ban still isn't healed, but that's too bad. As someone else pointed out, you reap what you sow.
It's time to step up and admit that you all made a mistake the first time, and regretfully it happened again. Apologize to Swami and move on. If you can't see that your actions are unjust then you are blind and unfit to govern.

Bah, there is a list on page one of this forum concerning people asking for bannings, not to mention all of the recent discussion concerning Swami's first banning. Even if some held the expectation that Swami could not discuss his banning in public, that expectation would contradict all of the other threads of the same nature, and even then, would not actually break any rules. If we went out on a limb, it could be grounds for the moving or the deleting of this post, but a ban?

It's such a shame that Swami had to create a puppet to express his thoughts, which would be the only tangible violation of the rules here that he has been charged with, because now the problem can be forever vaulted, without ever being solved....

Enjoy what remains, it is sour and bitter to the core, I shall not partake.

So your only course of action is to lurk and post like a sniper ? Why not just get back to your lovely additions to the Shroomery ?

I don't lurk, I was specifically directed to this post by another who does post. I returned to post in this thread because I was rather involved with the whole Swami ordeal, and I felt motivated to raise my voice. Nothing has changed, it has only gotten worse, oh well, life moves on.

Mods,
I would like to see some more clearly defined parameters than "if he plays nice, he can stay" for Swami to actually have a chance to adhere to and proceed to voice his questions, when he comes back.

We worked out a new set of rules for S&P over the last two weeks which were posted in the forum a few days ago. It was in the interest of making things a little more clear. If Swami follows the rules, same as everyone else, he can stay.

As for asking questions about his ban...that should preferably be done via PM with the administration.

Why not just address peoples concerns in a nice friendly public environment such as this discussion board in order to more efficiently answer key questions for everybody all at once?

I am speaking strictly of him questioning all the public accusations and reasons for banishment in this thread.

Are we to take S&P's rules in place of "If he plays nice, he can stay" as stated by another mod?

It is already clear that he can come back and play 'nicely'... This, is far too vague and allows too much room for ban-abuse, as has already happened.

can't you drop it and move on, swami?

Unprofessional modship.
Listed no rules being broken, for the reasoning behind her desire for Swami to refrain from his questioning.

please stop, swami.

Again, an unclear demand. Stop what, exactly?
Stop what you percieve to be, as you put it: "his teeth bared and a viper tongue"?
Or do you really mean to stop checking the accusers, and questioning the shady banishment altogether?

The following corollary made by you:
if he plays nice, he can stay
Seems to indicate that your emotions contaminated your rationality and logical-decision making abilities.

Absurd and irrational modship.

This is some Nazi bullshit, and makes me seriously reconsider posting in S&P with this kind of invironment.
Have we stooped to the level of Sacred shrooms? Whatever little personal conflicts that the mods have against Swami, should just be forgotten. You know he makes up like half the posts in S&P, and is a vital part of it.
Quit the bullshit. You say he has come back "barring his fangs, and looking for war" i don't see that at all. I see a bunch of Mods that don't have the verbal skills to argue, so instead use there powers to censor him.
Way to justify yourselves. Why don't you delete this thread, and all the other ones too, since these decisions need to be made "in private" "for the good of the community."
