I think a large part of that is probably due to the majority of the population not being privy to that sort of information, or possibly another scenario would be that the majority of them are so poor that worrying about someone elses problems is pretty low on their priority list. Not to mention that Buddhists believe that life is suffering...when was the last time you heard of buddhists waging a war for their beliefs?..

Zahid writes:

read in the Sun media earlier this year about Christian attacks on Muslims in Nigeria with fire bombs, grenades, etc.

Re-read it. A counter-attack is not the same as an attack.

I surely hope you are not referring to the carnage set off by Nigerian Muslims protesting the fact that the Miss Universe pageant was being held in Nigeria.

So when Christians kill innocent Muslims and torch Muslim homes it can't be considered terrorism?

Sheesh, maybe the Mosque that was fire bombed in Kathmandu the other day was fair game because of what happened in Iraq with the 12 Nepalese.

Islam is a unifying force. We are all brothers and sisters in Islam. When I do Dawah accross the country with other Muslims, we welcomed like family into the homes of Muslims we dont even know. When one enters Islam, he enters a global family of believers. If our brothers are being killed at regions far away, we are concerned. While we may not know them personally, and they dont know other far away muslims personally, we all love each other for the sake of Allah and that love manifests when we meat. That is why muslims who dont know each other greet each other with a hand shake and hug. We are brothers and sisters, and an attack on Muslims in palestine or chechnya is an attack on the entire Muslim Ummah.

So then Palestinian "revenge killings" are not attacks?

under that definition, wouldn't the school incident in Russia be defined as something else other than terrorism? It could be seen as a counter attack to Russia's occupation of Chechnya, I say it's terrorism, and I think of Eric Rudolph when you asked for a non muslim terrorist, the dragging of James Byrd to his death in Jasper Texas, the beating and leaving for dead of Matthew Shepard... I mean if you're going to put limits on your definition of terrorism just so it fits a certain ethnic group or race then I think someone is looking at the issue one sided...

It wouldn't surprise me to find out that the KGB (or whatever it's called now) actually was responsible for the whole thing. It makes the rebels look bad and gets the public support behind them. Logically, it makes no sense for the rebels to do such a thing...knowing full well that this would create a public backlash against them...not to mention that there are precedents of the KGB doing shit like this and then making it look like it was someone else.
..of course this is nothing but pure speculation on my behalf.

now wait a minute, I know that it was Chechen terrorists and there is no excuse for and these guys should be hunted down like the lowly trash that they are, I was just using that in context with what Pink said about counter-attacks not being terrorism...

Muslims have no army, we have no tanks, we have no fighter planes, we have no chain of command. We are just brothers and sisters with small arms, and Muslims who go out and self bomb restraunts, buses, or schools are doing it out of desperation since they have no other means of defending themselves.

So innocent people are justifiably murdered because muslims can't organize? WHAT THE FUCK?

edit: had to put the " 't" on can to make the statement make sense.....sorry, I blame the bottle named BEAM.

I agree Chechens did this attack on Beslan, and they are the one's who are responsible for it - but everyone honestly thought this stand off would last a long time since children were involved.

I think pinky has simply put his foot in his mouth for a change, since he implied that under certain conditions and scenarios, lobbing grenades at a mosque full of innocent worshippers cannot be considered terrorism.

This is a wider issue many have with the right, as many do not believe that Muslims have ever been wronged by the likes of Christians, Zionists, Russians, Americans, etc.

God, how many times do I have to explain to other people that killing civilians is contrary to Islam's teachings. I'm not trying to justify it, I'm trying to explain why some Muslims do it since soo many people blame Islam for it.

Well, see, Zahid -- that's the difference between Muslims and the rest of the world. The rest of the world sees a difference.

Source? Or do you now claim to speak for "the rest of the world"?

To try to pretend that blowing up schoolbuses full of schoolchildren or blowing up pizza parlors or bars in Bali is "collateral damage" is denial, pure and simple.

I see, so if the terrorists had aircraft they could drop bombs from or missiles they could launch at cities from hundreds of miles away that wouldn't be terrorism? That would be "collateral damage"?

And remember a helluva lot more civilians died during the bombing of Iraq than have died in "terrorist" attacks in recent years.

Religion (specifically Islam) is a far, far greater threat to peace than any other single force I can think of.

I think that very few religions can claim that they don't have any blood on their hands. The problem with the written word is that it can be interpreted in many different ways to suit the needs of those in positions of power...there will always be extreme factions of almost any major religion...which are without fail a VERY small minority.

Well, that's just the thing when a religion's followers does something fanatical and evil. The blood of the crusades is not on Jesus' hands, and neither is the blood of 9/11 on Prophet Muhammad's hands. They are on the hands of those who carried out the act.

We don't control our oil, puppets do - Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, etc. None of these states would use the oil to benefit an organized jihad, they only want to line their pockets with the help of gas guzzling SUV's in the West.
