That 'scenario' is the definition of welfare, socialized medicine, etc.

Yeah, but I dont think I'll see that untill I'm 98 years old ( 71 years from now ). And even then it will still be in its begining stages.

Yes. When you desire to.

You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity. What one person receives without working for another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for that my dear friend is the beginning of the end of any nation. Hehe, ok. Do you give change to beggers? I mean, I would give them some change, but they might buy a bottle of mouth wash to gulp down with it. But if I offer to buy them a meal instead I end up spending a whole 5 spot.

The last time someone begged from me, I did offer them to buy them a McDeal meal at McDonald's... he kept insisting that I give him the money himself to go buy the food, I told him 'Don't worry about it, I'll buy you a meal.".. eventually he started bitching that it was an isult to buy him a meal, accusing me of being racist and suspecting him of being a gutter drunk... at that point I turned around and told him "Forget it". No food was bought that night. I don't give charity to street people anymore, only organized charities to make up for my Zakat.

Just go in, buy the food, and give it to him. You will know him by his reaction. I've done it and they have always said thank you. Whether they meant it or not is another issue

WTF? I think you have been severely hampered lately by the time zone difference, because your posts are not even coherent anymore. Are you on vacation or what?

It a fairly straight forward question. Is there ever a time when it is wrong to not provide help to someone in need?

btw, perhaps you should check the timezone difference bud!

It's 11 pm in England isn't it? But that isn't what your original question was. Your original question was "Is there ever a wrong time not to help the needy?"

You've also produced some "interesting" posts in a few other threads in the last day or two

How wrong on a scale of wrongness? Would you consider that this could be considered a crime in anyway?

No. But I have no problem giving some of my money to families who've had their house burn, or a kid who has serious medical problems and things of that nature.

I think there is actually a legal doctrine that someone can be held criminally liable for failing to report a crime in progress if they have ample opportunity and there is no risk to themselves. Leaving the scene of an accident probably has some element of this as well

Yes. When the money is taken by your government under threat of incarceration or other threat of force.
