I didn't let the caps flatten out because I wanted to take prints as soon as possible... And damn, after the GTs — these look tiny to me.

trying methylene blue and congo red stains to try and boost cell contrast. They definitely work but it's gonna take some dialing in.


Some neglected cakes from ages ago still kickin. KSSS and tidal wave. The TW in particular is just happy as a clam, three flushes and a shitload of spores despite zero attention for months.

And this one is from a GT (MS) cake that I put to dunk between its second and third flush — and I remembered about it 48 hours later. Since I had leftover coir, I grated the cake (it was soaked) and spawned it to bulk. And it looks like we've got another big boy over 20cm!

The whispy line with what looks like fresh growth was because I streaked the mycelium on transfer a majority of the mycelium landing in the center and micro anmkunsa getting dragged out

Will monitor closely though for now looks half decent

Bottles seem like an easy way to get a fruiting chamber from materials you already have at home. I'm gonna try a small 5l jug next time as an experiment i think :sunny:

Found the original pack of swabs from 3.A.M.s monsters giveaway a year or two ago :yesnod: I thought I had lost them, I haven’t seen them since the day they arrived in the mail and I’ve moved since then. lo and behold sitting at the bottom corner of a random box of odds and ends was a cheeky little ziplock!

Very happy times, got Gandalf, Nutcracker and Iceberg swabbed to plates and popped into brf pucks, my first go at them but I figured perfect candidates hopefully
