Hahaha, I gotcha revved up with the two turntables quote... all good, I was feelin' it too.

I like passive tub fruits, will you get a full canopy, probably not, but you can get some well developed caps, and it is possible to grow them without ANY equipment, that right there, is GOLD.  Put it this way, I have almost a half gal jar full of fruits without dense flushes (and you know how small these can be), it's easy to get too many Pans too (like cubes). I'm a thrill seeker grower mainly for the sport of it, but there is only so many you can eat or giveaway, otherwise, back to the earth (compost style, nothing goes to waste, food for the web).

The last pic (fruit on the right) has a wonderful pileus and stipe, I know you were giving them babies Air, it's a must.

Real talk, you would have thought I was growing tamps the casing was so wet, but with the amount of air needed, no other choice when using casing for surface level humidity in a dry summer heat.

I totally agree with everything, it's mostly about the task of getting them to fruit and have front row seats to it happening.

Right, I've grown all kinds of mushrooms (woodie block grower), and the first time I saw a Ps Cyan in my Outdoor bed (valley fruits, they grow wild in the bay) I was giddy again like the first time I grew cubes tickled to death as if it was 15 years ago.  Feels weird to say that really, but I'm aware I'm getting older, it is what it is.

But I can tell you the first time an Oyster block started pinning, same feeling, so to me, it's the same across the board, Oysters, Shiitakes, or Pans and Tamps, I'm a cultivator at heart of many things, been growing Juliet tomatoes almost as long as Cannabis.

My man, I did the cannabis thing for 12 years, can't even believe it's been another 12 years since my last cannabis harvest, old indeed :oldman:

:highfive:

If I'm lucky I might come back to that at one point, when the kids have moved out and doing their own thing :bongload:

For sure, sounds like we aren't too far apart, my first Cannabis plant was in 95 (well 92/93, but not to buds, nice plant tho'), but I was green around the gills no doubt and young, but older friends already growing (def helped).  I've been consistently growing since 04, but crops here and there from 95-03, outdoor mainly at the time (indoor shed in 06').

32 node Scrog for shits and giggles, SCROG grows bring me back to good harvests with inferior lights, used to run old Mars leds years ago, I remember being so happy with 8.6oz in a 2x4, now if I don't get at least 10, it's a disappointment (sort of, not a production enviro or anything).

Bumping this because I'd really love an answer to it. What are these white blobs? Wondering if I should do something about them.

Thanks!

Freedom units is hard, I had this L200xW120xH200cm tent that used to give me around 0,8 to a kg from 18 plants in 12L containers.

Beautiful plant dude

The mycelium is cyanescens, so it's not going to pin until I put it into wood chips outside. It's going to be a couple weeks before I'm able to do that. The mycelium grew much faster than I expected once I moved it from a grain bag to wood chips in a monotub. It's been about three weeks since I transferred it from a grain bag.

But, what is the white blob? I'm concerned the mycelium is infected with something that will take over before I can plant outside.

Thanks for your response, MushLuvR77.

I just looks like a mycelium mass. I'm not sure the exact name of it. But I wouldn't be worried. Especially wouldn't be worried with it going outside. Your petty late on these though dude if you're in the northern hemisphere... Hopefully they'll fruit in time for you this year. Your chips do look very fine though, so maybe they will. The critters are going to go ape shit with all that grain though.

I definitely wouldn't feed it anymore if you really want some fruits this year

With the little bit of bluing happening in the mass, doesn't look like anything to worry about.  I know they don't form sclerotia or anything, but an outdoor  bed can be just as rewarding, the Cyan fruit in my avatar is from my bed (started late 21, and fruited 2023), where they don't normally grow here. You have to be in for the long haul, but be patient, it will eventually give up the goods, even if we have to play rainmaker when the temperature is right.

Had a bit of an odd occurrence this evening. Pasteurized a brick of coir back on Friday using the same method I always have. 1L of water per 200g dry weight, stuff into jars, and immersion cooker'd at 160F for 90 minutes. Nothing fancy. I used most of the batch, but had a bit left over that I just left in its jar at room temp until I had a use for it.

This evening I cracked open the jar and was greeted by a distinct sulfur smell.

None of the other material had that scent, nor do the projects I used it on. There's no visible growth in the material, it's not slimy or sticky, it just smells vaguely of rotten eggs. The lid wasn't bulged, there was no hiss of gas or anything.

Anyone else ever have an experience like this? I've never left coir sitting around after pasteurizing before so this is a bit new to me all around. I'm currently drying it out in my oven (and boy is THAT making for a... fascinating aroma in my kitchen) just out of curiosity to see how it behaves if rehydrated again.

Well, after being baked dry and waiting a day, I decided to rehydrate it. It had no odor while desiccated in the pan, so I added 200ml of water and...

It still smells "Weird". No longer sulfurous, but it's definitely funky. Almost like... raw meat? It's off-putting whatever it is. Quite bizarre. None of the rest of the coir smells off, just this one orphan jar. I hate to waste it but I think it shall just be chucked in the trash.

Still trying to figure out what is going on with this grow - yesterday at 11PM these were hitting the top of the shoebox and still had the fuzzy growth all over, switched top to dubtub at his point:

Woke up this morning like a kid on Christmas and ran down to check on these only to find:

Stems grew about 3" more, caps had opened and spored with enough weight to break the steams; all in 7 hours.  Tried to take a spore print but the caps were mush.  Is the stuff another mold that these 2 shrooms tried to out grow?

Doesn't smell that great either - I am sure it's got some contamination but it's not turning green and a few more fruits are coming, hoping to get the timing right for a spore print.  Could a mushroom grow covered with some sort of fuzzy contamination?

But you’re saying it smells funky. To me in the pics the growth looks grey and not white and it’s like it’s sitting on top of your soil as opposed to how mycelium consumes it.

You are also saying the shrooms are mushy

You have a lot of tell tale signs it’s fucked. Not all bad shit is green.

My thought is fuck that tub

I pulled fruits from these cube trays in my Martha tent about 11 days ago and no new signs of fruits. My fan for fae that I had constantly running shit out on me the other day. Other than that humidity was at like80-82% for a few days so I just bumped it up to 88-92%. Hoping for 1 more flush. Any tips? I did not soak the cakes and am wondering if it’s too late but I’ve always found that method kinda sketchy

(Edit: I put these straight into fruiting conditions and used a little too much verm)
