The power is 12V (I hate even typing that out) 12? honestly.... And the DC port is one of those tiny 5mm oor whatever holes with a metal pin in the centre, I was sstill feeliung hopeful cause I got a ton of music equipment i tried all the cables from every single amplifier and pedal I had collocted throughout life notthing fit, I had like 4-5 slightly thin alsmot perfect looking adapters from old stuff but nothing fit.

I know I can find something somewhere but do I take a pic on my phone and go look in stores cause I sure as hell aint bringing that thing. I could just take it apart, that was my original plan, to open it and to verify that It indeed has elecrtical components inside and not just a barbie poster, but then I felt this thing has drained more energy than brought me fun so I want to start planning my own big comfortable FH setup while I ask friends for old nokia chargers or whatever (like seriously) or beard trimmer cable.

Is there a website or something for this hood? Feel free to DM.

"Barrel jack" is the term for that connector.

Critically, they can be wired either way, center positive or center negative. Plugging in random stuff risks it being backwards or damaging whatever the thing is. If there's a spec sheet or something about it, it might specify that orientation. I believe 5.5mm is the standard at least in the US.

But yeah if it's got screws or something, crack it open, post some pics. Might have a circuitboard or fan with a name/model number, etc.

The thing you'll be shopping against will probably have a format like "12volt 2amp power supply, 5.5mm barrel jack, center negative" (random values, but that's about the shape of it).

Just need to know which fan is compatible with which FFU, the rest ill figure out myself

This is probably going to be expressed in terms of CFM (cubic feet per minute) or M3M (cubic meter / minute) ratings, ideally against the filter's resistance in wg. The filter often has a sticker on the side with that info, if it's not available from the model number.

In a pinch, the "blows a lighter flame to 45deg without flicker" test has served me well. I ignore the actual meter on my hood.

If myc has a tendency to "burrow" into the agar, rather than or partially in conjuction with running across the plate, is it possible the agar is too soft? 100% agar agar powder was used, says food grade.

Should more agar be added to the mix, the most recent batch has a distinct jiggle, 10 g agar, 10 g LME ~400 ml water was the recipe.

Too much nutrients? Cutting my teeth on agar now.

The learning curve is real.

Usually a starting point I see is 500 water 10 agar and 8 lme as a starting point. So I def say your nutes are high

Like Split said you're a bit high. The standard recipe is 2% agar 2% LME (unless you're Kloakk then DME Light ). For 400ml water that would be 8g and 8g. You are at 2.5%; probably not a big issue but usually better to go a little light on nutes than heavy.

Im making a very shameful post here

Basically I should have just opened  this "barbie house" a month ago when I first picked it up from the post office, I could have saved myself from being irritated that the FFU came with no cable and that I didnt receive the scalpel sterilizer that that the order details said was going to come in the same package. I said yesterday that I was gonna open it to look for barbie posters inside (by the way im a real piece work, on occassions I even impress meself) whats the first thing I see inside? A printed colorful sheet of paper with detailed list of items, technicals and explanation on how to put everything together.

THANK GOD I was only being 99% a spazzy reet because the last 1% is what held me back from writing the name of the company (if that  company is a sponsor here im gonna be physically sick)

Just wanted to update with this psot first, going now to clean up the embarressing mess I made in yestdays posts while I pretend that Im laughing it off, cause im not..

Got to admit this is driving me a little crazy I can get a fully colonized tub but for some reason can't get it to produce pins and if I do its 1-2 fruits and that's it. Can anyone better than I see anything in these pics that may say what I am doing wrong? I can give any extra info anyone needs, I just don't even know the questions to asks. Any help anyone can give would be super appreciated, thanks.

Except for the first tub it's seems like things are drying out and you keep misting until the mycelium turns matted. That could be under hydrated coir or tubs not dialed in. Dial in the tubs so you don't have to fan or mist until after the first flush is done, that should solve the problem, well IF that is the problem

Thanks that is basically what I am doing because as I go into fruiting conditions I usually remove the lid or whatever I am using to cover because it says to add fae and then I take a perfectly dialed in tub and basically autistically ADHD all over it until I've basically destroyed the mycelium with watering it so much because it seems to always dry out instead of just leaving it alone. Thanks kloakk:kenthumbup: you have been a life saver for me with this stuff much appreciated.

It's kind of tub dependent how you dial it in, but the tub in the first picture I would just take off the lid, close the latches and put the lid on top of the latches. For a sealed tub I use ez dial for all sizes

Do you all think this tub looks fucked? I've gotten conflicting answers. It doesn't seem to be cobweb since it hasn't really exploded in growth and it also doesn't smell funky... there's honestly minimal smell at all but I think it does lean towards shroomy smell.

I will go ahead and say the pinkish/brown/grey spots shown in certain spots, particularly around the edges, doesn't look like that to the naked eye and seems to be from how the flash and camera is interacting with the vermiculite or something like that... Idk.

Any suggestions or input is greatly appreciated:

You are destroying your beautiful surface to early, pins need moisture and high humidity, there is no reason to touch anything with 6 or 12qt tubs in the beginning.  The imperfect lids give constant slow evap, which is what is needed early on, you can add air later when you want to develop caps, but in the beginning, you need moisture beads and LITFO sort of deal.  For me, with cubes, I see a few pins, I know the conditions are great, I will unsnap the lid and leave it on top, add just a touch more air, to develop pinset, but no fanning or any of that old nonsense that doesn't work.  Fanning only temporarily drops the humidity, consistent evaporation, whether it's slow (in the beginning) or more air toward the middle end of the cycle for higher evap for stipe and cap development.  Cubes love air too just like any other mushroom; they are just more forgiving at higher humidity lower air environments.  Believe me tho', PE strains are water and AIR hogs, different than REGS... to develop properly.

I see all sorts of different methods going on, this could be confusing you as well, stick to tubs, I'm telling you, spawn your tub, do nothing for a week or so, pop lid to check surface, that's it back to leave it alone.  Regular cubes, usually pins in 8-10, PE/TaT 12-14 days usually to see knots or maybe even an early pin.  Tubs and C/V are tried and true, or even Coco by itself works fine too. I prefer Verm, but I cultivate many things and it's always in my toolbox of goodies for growing.

I also prefer the snap lids over the latch for unmodified tubs, I can rest the lid on the snap for additional air, or when pinset is done, flip the lid, offset it towards the end for more air for cap development, the flexibility of a tub is where it's at...

I tried all sorts of configurations when I was growing cubes only, I don't do big Mono tub runs anymore dropping 5+ quarts into one tub (prefer eggs in more than 1 basket).  I prefer MP tape if I'm going that route, but 1 big hole, or 5 smaller ones, it's all the same really.  In my opinion, tubs are the easiest way for anyone to grow, advanced to beginners, doesn't matter... you can be successful regardless of skillset.  Sorry, but I am more of a BOD fan, than Pasty... but all jokes aside, the work and effort from both has been invaluable to the OMC.  Hats off, wonderful work, beautiful flushes in EZ dials too, but those tubs are for me... the way.

They can grow Pans too, with an understanding of what Pans need, won't work otherwise, would probably be a trick fest growing them like Cubes.
