I have to replace my grain. My plan is to concentrate on Ochras, Subrops, and Pans. What do you guys like to use for those?

Millet is the shit. Never grew ochraceocentrata, but subtrops and Pan cyan and bispo love it. No prep is awesome.

Confession: we've had some heavy weather recently, with the cat and our friend. It's summer and everyone's partying like a mfer, and we're at home trying to keep everything afloat.

Couple of heatwaves expertly destroyed all outdoor projects. Gnats took out whatever was cooking indoors. So I'm kind of in a position where I don't have anything going on a more advanced stadium than 'on grain'. Should have been transferring hard and should really throw out the cooked outdoor tubs. But I can't get myself to do it. Been watching contams take over germ plates and didn't intervene at all. Feels like I left cult.

So. There's that, I feel like I don't really have any business here. Not a shroom growing and haven't tripped in a while.
Anyway, next week we're at a festival again and I hope to get back in the saddle. But for now everything's sort of just derping along.

Nothing wrong with that. It'll come around at some point if you want it to. For whatever it's worth you definitely belong here, actively growing & tripping or not :mushroom2:

Exactly, hidingbush. You said it.

Churp, you're awesome, man. Sorry to hear that things haven't been ideal for you lately. I know you'll get through. Maybe the festival will, indeed, put the good vibes back in place. I hope they do. I always look forward to your posts. Beef created this sanctuary for us to interact and float along under or above whatever it is that is dogging us. To be and engage at one's own discretion. Mush love to ya, man. You're going to get on to sunny skies. Keep on keepin' on, as they say. We are here for you when you need to vent.

I need a pool and a stuffed vulture so I can wait for someone to drive by then play dead, face down in the pool with that goddamn buzzard on my back. The ol' "Buzzard surfin' on a dead guy" routine. Oh, then when the person/peoples stop to see if I'm ok, I'll give 'em hell for being on my lawn with the buzzard still attached, bobbin' and weaving as I get more and more animated. I'll have my speedo wedged so far up my ass it will feel like I have a hair stuck in the back of my throat.

Well. Now I know a certain room in my house trips the breaker when I use the dehydrator. Worst case the shrooms sat at room temp for 24 hours.

How fucked am I shroom gods?

I confess I bought a vintage 4qt presto at goodwill today for $2.59. it needs new gaskets and a new pressure regulator. They are only $50 new, and the parts+shipping come too $48.

Realistically, the only thing it could be useful for cult wise is 4 quarter pint jars of spawn, But that could yield me about 36g dry which is a years supply :mushroom2: maybe I'll cook with it or make some jam. It's a convenient size. it won't run much longer than an hour(according to presto) before going dry which is it's other shortcoming. Though it does run at 15psi.

Decision, decisions. Id hate to see it meet it's demise in a landfill.

Maybe a waste of money. What do ya'll think?

If you like it then it's worth it. Neat colour on that one. Maybe start collecting and restoring old pressure canners? :tongue2: I had a really cool ancient Peerless that I used for years, til it got too pitted, warped  plus the seal failed and was hard to source a direct replacement. Throwing that out was a tough one

Agree it's pretty but a novelty. Smack it with some RTV silicone and make a DIY gasket!

This is not a serious suggestion, I have no idea how dangerous that is but probably... fairly

Also maybe you could flip it on FBM etc. The kinda people who get excited about that probably have quart jars to let go.

I get unreasonably excited about scoring quart jars.

Confession: when the schizos at goodwill start putting $2+ stickers on the lids of jars that are otherwise 50c... i just start moving the lids around. Fuckem.

Thanks all. Sorry for being overly dramatic. I have the feeling I should be having the time of my life and instead we're sad and groggy and get flashes of midwinter burnout.

And I know tripping will really help with getting the perspective in tune again (we're just grains of sand on the beach of life and have zero significance to the forces that shift us). But somehow I always fight the urge whenever I feel cornered... Oh well, nothing new.

Anyway thanks. I'll try to whip up something cultish. Here's Zap 'Popo' that would seem pretty ok to my inexperienced eye, N rustica flowering in the witches' herbs jungle, and festival outfits we were working on this spring that will get a decent airing.

Edit: wait, this isn't CPOTD
