Can always try shaking the next day to redistribute the moisture.
Can’t hurt I think.

Usually need an extra day to shake my no prep millet for that reason.

Quick question ;how big should airflow holes on general be in a 52 quarts Monotub?
3x1.5 inch on the sides and 1 x Under the lid on the short side… ?

You can pick the sunflower seeds out if you want to, but there isn’t really a need to do so. I never have and it works just fine.

Thoughts on running a vivosun humidifier in auto? Im hesitant to rely on a probe to accurately measure humidity here.

Anyone remember an old story of a spore trading site that users here helped buy
the Creeper and Z strain to be distributed easier for the general pop?
Also the report of a cold-loving variety?

If there really was a Ps. Cubensis found in Canada that enjoys cold weather,
would it be called an "Ice Cube"?

what part of the world are you in? I can only see needing a humidifier in the southwest of the states and that longitudinal band.

if your rh is getting below 30 or so you could try plugging the humidifier into a timer outlet? I wouldnt run it while absent, too much rh can cause contam issues in my experience. every place I've grown in I actually had to dry out with those big ass desiccant packets and some fans to keep air moving.

I should have specified- I'm growing oysters in a garbage can FC. 🤣

It's very much a FAFO scenario while figuring out how to make room in my tiny apartment for a greenhouse.

Makes it easier to get in there for transfers etc in a SAB, I think. Having to pry the seal open fucks the air up. Agree they're poured four years thick lol.


If you don't close the lid all the way when you PC it shouldn't matter which side the lid is on. Close it all the way will make it harder to open than if you left it slightly loose

not neccesarily, bluing isnt confirmed to be a function of psilocybin. it is a function that cubensis fruit bodies have, and not generally found in other mushrooms (although purple and red bruising are found), but it isnt a confirmed function of psilocybin.

So, faht talked about how he does transfers by only using the aerial mycelium that should be the cleanest. I tried this today on this fluffy TTBVI but it's hard to see what I'm doing in the SAB (and I have the hand shaking gene :lol:) and I just don't see anything on the receiving plate. I guess I'll see soon if I made a transfer successfully.

I cooled the scalpel on agar but is it plausible that the bit of mycelium fell off or burned during the transfer? I know it's a vague question but... how do you ensure that you actually got the mycelium to the new plate because it's so hard to see?

Have very bright lights on your SAB/FH setup and get close to the plates when you're transferring :shrug: has to be the only way of ensuring you got something on the scalpel and dropped it off
