They won’t get stronger you might as well pick them now keep all the spores off of them so they look better

Funny thing people say after the mushroom spore they taste bad well the spores are in the mushroom before it spores so they can’t taste any different because nothing has changed 🤷🏻‍♂️
I mean the spores are either on the inside of the cap or outside of the cap

yeah I wait till spores start dropping. sometimes I end up coming home from work to a full sporulated tub but literally who cares lol

Right the age of the mushroom may change the taste of it, but not the spore

So my tubs looked great before I left for a quick 3 day trip. Came back and shit looks weird. I don’t think it’s overlay because it just doesn’t look thick enough. It almost seems like everything got dusted by powdered sugar or something. Is it contamination of some sort? The grain jar looked amazing before I sent it and it looked great and fast like it read before i left. In the last photo you can even see pins growing jut only the side pins. I packed it down neatly with a tile thingy too.

So if its overlay, should I fork tek it or just leave it? And more importantly, is the overlay something that i caused and can prevent in future grows or is it just genetics?

When you gently scratch the surface of the overlay to sort of let it breathe again I think (honestly is my first time trying it out). Although I've seen a video on youtube where the guy was aggressively scraping it off like a scab and threw all the overlay away. That looked crazy.

I think these shoeboxes were like 1:2. I usually go with a 1:3 ratio but had too many genetics to send and didn't want to make another batch of coco. I'll try the higher sub next time thank you.

and yes, my results with 1:3 are significantly better than my 1:2 Ochras from the past.

Gonna try 1:4 next and up my FAE

Put some caps down last Friday looking to get some prints and no spores. All dried up and nothing.

What works best is to put a couple drops of water on the cap and then cover the cap with some kind of small bowl or cup to keep the contamination down and the humidity up that will help the spores drop onto your aluminum foil

What you have going on there would probably not be that clean of a spore  print
