Hey everybody, I've been looking around and cant seem to find many trip reports on true P. Nats. I grew out what I thought was P. Nat in 2023 but from trip reports on orcas and the pics in this thread it was most definitly not P.Nat I grew. Do any of you that have grown the real deal have any trip reports to link to?

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this thread, So much good, valubale information.

Sold to me by Myyco as Psilocybe ochraceocentrata, aff. Natalensis

Colonized very slowly under 25C. Vigorous from 25-30C

Pretty sparse fruiting. Small and skinny, harvesting is a pain in the ass.

Gets a canopy but small yields(25-30% BE).

Very potent though. Approx 2x + compared to cubes.

Second flush bigger than first on last 2 tubs πŸ€·πŸ€”

What am I growing πŸ€”

Here’s a current grow, I think these are true Nat (?)

LC from a reputable vendor, quick to colonise rye, then into a bag with a CVG/wpoo sub at around 1:8. Once colonised, into a shallow tray and covered with foil until recolonised (a week).

Scratched off the abundant overlay after bruising it with an overly vigorous spray (looked tasty so I ate it - was surprisingly psychoactive), then covered with foil until surface re-colonised and then kept in a Martha with a vented lid, FAE 4 times a day and very light misting….

So far so good 🀞 largest fruit are about 3-4 inches tall, more pics to follow

Does anyone know where I can get spores or liquid culture for True P.Natalensis? Are they difficult to fruit when compared to Cubes or Ochra? What are some things you look for in Natalensis fruit that set it apart from others?

Crazy you ask, I'm going to be running a 2019 og genetics grow. I got the originals from zifozonke, lots of other guys took it further. I might be able to hook you up in 9 or so months

never did anything but regular fruiting. it caused some weird shit to happen but I definitely was able to just treat it like normal. not sure where the divide between orchs and nats but these certainly are different from cubes, more potent, no real veil before fruiting. idk, y'all can tell me what this is but it certainly wasn't cubes (unless nats are a subspecies of cubes)

Those show many of the traits of ochraceocentrata and none of the nat indicators imho. So I would say ochras with high confidence. Ochras are distinct from cubes but do grow in similar conditions. True nats are far more finicky in my experience. They do originate from the same area as nats, thus some of the confusion.

Nothing empirically wrong with ochras. Many find them more potent than average cubes and having a different trip quality.

The few true nats that I have managed to fruit tested weak compared to cubes but my paltry sample size was minuscule. The main reason I was interested in true nats was due to an inflammation study that I had seen. In the end it turned out that the original study appears to have used mislabeled ochras. In follow up studies the reduction in inflammation was shown to be similar across several other active species and true nats were not among them.

Based on the above I have lost most of my interest in them. I still have some low yield cultures in storage, but just don't have the bandwidth or much motivation to keep working those tested.

Can anyone here report great results with them? I know that DERRAYLD has produced some monsters, but I don't know if any potency testing or trip quality has been discussed much. I would love to know if there is something really cool about them other than their rarity and confusing history.

whatever the are they're from the original guy who brought natalensis to this board, same genes. I don't really care what they called they're super potent and a lot of fun to grow.

what are the like main differences between this orchs species and actual natalensis? cultivation wise not trip wise, how are you able to determine

I posted potency results forever ago. They are weak. I was able to get a killer flush but it wasn't easy. I did a massive run of them. Like 50 shoeboxes and had 3 or 4 fruit and only doing well. I did clone but never bothered running them again.

The main difference? Ochra is like the easiest species ever to grow. Natalensis grow only if they want to lol. Same sub and everything. I ran them in a dreamer but I'm sure they'll grow if they want in a monotub
