The beginning of this is my all time favorite poetry.

Gah he melts my heart.

confessional? my life is a jerry lewis movie. several months ago I purchased a syringe of bisporus and failed repeatedly to cultivate it. complained on here and someone was kind enough to send me a great bishop spore spring. I did a couple of ms agar plates, did 5 or 6 T1s and got 4 beautiful plates. so today I am in front of a newish FFU, gloves, mask, 4 jars of Amish popcorn and the plates. I open the first jar, unwrap the plate, open a new disposable scalpel, and in my nervousness I barely nick my finger. thinking 'no big deal' I go to slice a plate and see a stream of blood running down my glove. panicked, I jerk it away from the open jar and sling droplets of blood into my agar plate and across the front filter of the FFU. my first cultivation confessional. thank you

Oh fam, I'm sorry to hear that.

I still get nervous sometimes when I have a scalpel in my hand. It helps to remind myself to breathe.  It will calm my sympathetic nervous system and helps with the shaky hands too.

If I have a dirty plate, I also like to practice with an empty jar.

I hope your next attempt goes more smoothly

I'm back to giving them the benefit of the doubt.

There's a Dharma story about the Buddha inviting Mara in for tea.  And one of the Buddha's chief disciples, according to the mythology, was Mara in a past life.

Mara is essentially the devil.  The lord of hell.  But it's an office, not an individual.

Even the devil in Buddhism is capable of change and finding enlightenment.

Anyway, I don't know what tulted's intentions are. So I'm trying to give them the benefit of the doubt. There could be AI translation issues happening. It could be someone in an authoritarian country trying to figure out how to grow mushrooms and connect (unskillfully) with our community.

And, I was very frustrated with them this morning.  I didn't need to make a big show of things in AQQ.

After I got a Lyme diagnosis, and after years of having hemiplegic migraines that probably did some brain damage, I have a lot of patience for people who have a hard time comprehending things, or explaining things. So when I see tulted spoon not getting it I can relate to some degree.

There is also another part of me that thinks they are just trolling... But I have met people in my life that I've tried to teach to grow, and they do alot of the same type of thing. Changing up a tek before you get any success and then wondering why everything turns out mold...it's frustrating, to say the least. And it's not the type of thing you can gage too well online, how genuine the misunderstanding, or what have you, may be.

Tree frog you're a fucking Saint for dealing with these kinds of things constantly. All the TCs.

I have an ochra tub with pins, largest is about an inch tall.

I started from a spore print I collected. And now another few months of (excruciating) patience and im almost back around. This is monumental and I want to thank you all.

It is the very first time I went from spores to agar to grains to bulk. I still am in awe at how we all get to grow these in our own homes.

My friend, you will have more fuck ups. We all do. I just hope the next one does not include blood. I recently misted a beautiful tote of Semps with iso, not once but twice in the same week. We live. We learn. You got this dude. Just give another go and you’ll be fine!

I'm hitching my wagon to starman's post just to say that I love seeing other people touting their hard one accomplishments and having a sense of humor about their tomfoolery in the lab. I have been there myself many times in the last few months. The post about the scalpel cut and the bloodstream had me laughing out loud. But also overflowing with empathy. You guys all rock!

I have a confession.

The main gripe I have about the shroomery is the anonymity. Actually, that gripe is probably better reserved for the illegality of psilocybin throughout the world, but I digress. Anyway, the ability of trolls to just fuck up a good time is so easy here.

Look, I’m a really kind person in real life. For real. I sent CMH a gift card for his new baby with the print I sent him, for fucks sake! And I’ve never even shook the man’s hand! But my confession is this: I won’t go into details, but I used to be a badass muthafucka.  However, like most of us, I’m always focused on continuing my journey to be a better human. But I hate to admit, I will fuck up tultedspoon if I ever meet that piece of shit face-to-face.

Hey!  You tricked me! punk!

And thank thank you thank you!!!!

Dont worry. one day.... you'll shake my hand. Or give me a hug. as we make are way into some venue to see a badass show.

I fell ya bro. Definitely best keep the anonymity alive around these parts tho. like you said for the sake of  legality and protection of our families for the most part.

But Once you've created a healthy rapport with somebody like me.  And you've gotten to know them for long enough. And fill in your bones that you can trust them with certain things.

I suggest making real friends with those persons,  where anonymity isn't as important.

just keep it off of the org basically.

I already have done this with at least three people here already.

we trust each other, we can talk to each other, and be real with each other. Usually either through actual text messages or some other service that's just not gonna connect us to here.

Multiple future meetings have been set up and honestly I'll be super excited when it actually happens.

This is a RL confession.

I'm in a moral pickle, although I've already made my decision.

My mom is an alcoholic. She's been kicked out of an old age home three times. Been through rehab 4 times.

She's being evicted at the end of March because she drinks to the point she becomes a problem for the residents and staff.

Right now, she's in the same province as my brother, which has unfairly put the burden of her on him.

We both believe that she's putting no effort into staying at her place because she hopes to be moved in with us.

The last time she went to rehab she was planning to drink weeks before she graduated. She refuses any additional assistance with her drinking or health problems.

Now I'm left with a choice, do I let my mother go homeless or live with my wife and son? I'm a truck driver, so any abuse she puts out will be bared by my wife and son alone. My son has said clearly that he will move out if she moves in. That means my disabled wife will be left alone with my alcoholic mother with failing health, and that's not fair to her. My son will also have to move out before he's ready, which is exactly what my mom did to me

Now I'm left with the choice of maternal obligation vs what's best for my wife and son. I'm choosing my wife and son.

It would be different if my mom was attempting to improve things, but she's just as immature as when I was a teenager. This means I'm left with the son's guilt while knowing I'm doing the right thing for my family. It's a hard place to be in.

If you were here or if I was there... I'd give you the biggest fucking hug I could.

Absolutely, brother! I’m totally down for getting together with many of the people here in the org. For a drink, to see a show, watch a snake charmer, go camping and eat a handful of shrooms while sitting around a fire….sounds great to me. Like-minded people with different backgrounds and experiences, likely getting along swimmingly. I’ve always been a student of other people and I’m fascinated by learning about people’s lives and what makes them tick. Hippie, I’m looking forward to it whenever it happens.

I think I’m done ranting about obviously annoying members here. There are just too many awesome ones to learn from, potentially teach (as a rookie, I limit my advice), or just bullshit about music, life, or whatever bullshit is on the news. Even when there are spats here, they are mostly like two siblings acting out at the thanksgiving table.

Too much life to live to waste it on trolls of any kind, internet or not.

Peace to you all, fam.
