It was spawned on the 13th so its been exactly 2 weeks. But it should be noted s2b was straight into fruiting conditions.

Actually i was thinking the casing(coir) is a bit dry too. Since posting misting frequency was upped a little more but not enough to mess hydration and risk anything.

Sounds good, just be careful not to matt the surface

Thank you guys! I trusted some online vendor's LC and this happened. My PC psi was also wonky since I wasn't able to set a good temp for stable psi until the last 30 minutes.

I have a bunch of plates going and will make more to isolate the good stuff. Plan is to do A2G

Definitely prioritize getting grain prep right. The rest doesn't make any difference if your grain doesn't sterilize. You'll get there homie. This is called "cultivation character building" and I just went through 14 jars of it myself. 🤣

Turns out the pressure cooker I have reaches only 13psi, is this possible to work with grain?

Can you just run for a longer time period ?

Any info would be ace! Thanks

I followed Super Simple, No Soak, Red Milo/Sorghum Seed Prep Tek Like a Boss.

After the 5-minute boil and drain, some of my milo is still white in the center. Will it be okay to pressure cook as is? It’s already in grain bags, and I’m planning to PC for 3–4 hours, so I’m hoping the additional time in the pressure cooker will finish hydrating it.

Yes.

I use an instapot. Only gets bout 12psu

As the other said. Run longer.

I run for 185.

Just had one jar contam out of the last 30-50 I’ve made.

And I’m confident it was the transfer that crapped it out and not the sterilization part. But still possible.

Thought the whole point of putting tin foil on the jars was to prevent ADDING more moisture?

Edit. Point being we aren’t trying to add more moisture is my understanding

As promised. Providing updates on these big boi Cambodian jars. Cultivation seems fine and slow. Keeping these in a small and dark space for better heat insulation.

How does this jar look so far?

Has anyone grow APE Stary Night? I am thinking about buying some pre made agar plates and APE Stary Night is what I was going to buy. My Pink Buffalo culture is so slow I am going to grow out the culture and then no more. Its been 44 days the Pink Buffalo been growing and one jar has been spawned it colinzed faster the other two about 70% done but its slow to colinze bulk substrate too.

I really want something fast growing and potent my zapotecorum from the volcano Popocatépetlis is actually great culture its actually gotten around 80% of the jar in 22 days. Im just worried it will be difficult to fruit so was trying to find a better cubensis culture to work with.

What have been some of the fastest cultures in everyone's experience? So far zapotecorum is the fastest I seen.

Everyone’s next step after cubes should be semperviva. Not appreciably harder to cultivate, but an absolutely amazing mushroom experience. Doesn’t hurt that they are beautiful.

GT’s and B+ have been fastest cultivators.

As far as potent goes, the white rabbits have been my fastest.

I checked that one off of my bummer bingo card a time or few. The green goblin.

The bummer bingo has a nice zing to it haha. Does green goblin = trich?

Thanks! I'm really not sure what it is. I haven't committed the different types of contam to memory. Not the proper names, anyway.

What is the purpose of roughing up the top of the substrate with a fork? When would that technique be used?

Trich will gorilla fuck your tubs. If it moves slowly, it's probably something else.

IME, it's also a lighter shade of green, but idk enough about it to know if that's always the case. Idk shit about mold...where's Nichrome!?

If you harvest a flush and expect the sub has more to give but refuses to pin, the roughing of the surface stimulates new myc growth, which should encourage it to pin from there. Ive only ever had it happen once, but punishing it worked.

Beef uses the sprayer on the sink, which worked like a charm for me.
