Ok, not really. I was still reading and learning and planning the whole time I was inactive.

But I just did some transfers of some new genetics (still have a couple to do), and 3/4 of my blue cap ochra T0 plates have clean growth. Will transfer tomorrow after making some elk chili.

My 7 year old daughter think that I am her lifeline. Truth is, I am nothing more then her certain death. So you tell me brother, how do I break the news?

First, you aren’t trash but I understand feeling that way. And physically we are indeed fertilizer. We are, however, also made of stardust.

My 8 year old daughter when she was little spoke far too often for comfort about life and death. She had clear recollections of life before coming here. Those weren’t ideas her mom or I put into her head. We do have honest conversations with her about death when she brings it up. We are honest about it but not morbid. Just a matter of fact conversation.

The news as I see it is that life and death are real, and true, and inevitable. And the key is to live as fully as we can in anticipation of that inevitable end. I admit I’ve spent most of my life doing far less than that and as I get older I spend more time thinking about death. But I still live and my daughter sets an example for what living fully looks like.

I guess my question is - do you still live and try to live fully? Is your daughter an example? If so, do you need to do anything other than be honest about deaths inevitability and encourage her to live fully?

I hope this came across with the respect I intend for your own beliefs and choices.
