Ended up falling asleep last night. Here is my spent tub that’s been in below 60°F temps for the last 10 days. No spores and the stipes are actually “not all spaghetti like”. I’m thinking about moving my ochras into a storage room in the basement that will stay in the 50°-60°F range all winter and do an actual experiment

Fuck, was traveling yesterday and guess I missed a heated day around here.

Anyway, I get to wake up to this view everyday for the next week. When it’s not cloudy, the sunrises are beautiful here. Been coming to the top of this mountain for over 40 years to hunt deer every November. Only missed a few years here and there. My best buds son found some oysters on the first walk around the property. I’ll sauté them up tonight!

I lost my parents when I was 14. Never adopted or had a guardian (was able to hide from the system). My 3 sisters and I kind of went separate ways from just being curious, young, and dumb. I've been alone for most of my life and have never felt lonely. Well, except after my twin died recently. I think I'll be just fine alone.

I have my friends, including you guys, and I like being able to have my friends but not be committed to someone. Mainly because I've always done what I want and can't imagine not doing something because of jealousy or whatever else. I'm also a monogamous person, and the dating pool for the past few years is just 👎🏼

But, yes, my boat's got a lot of water and has been trying to sink for years, but I have a degree and a career and can say that I've worked and paid for literally everything I've got. Those are huge wins. Also, I'm not struggling in these shit times that the US is currently going through, so I think I've been bucketing the water out at a good pace.

You're certainly strong! I can't think of many people who could take those hardships and turn them into a positive way of existing in the world. For me, being forced to be alone only makes me more broken and pathetic. Wish I could use my struggles as a strengthening force, like you do <3

It has been a long road. And to be completely honest, I only found the positivity recently when my twin passed. I felt like I had lost everything and couldn't understand what I've done to have such a shit life. But one day, I was laying in bed crying about my twin, and just realized I have two other sisters and other people, and just a good life compared to what others have now. I would be stupid to not be grateful for what still I have.

You got it in you, too. Everyone does. You just have to find it.

This is a really good point, because it's hard to find someone that vibes with your dance. What I found out though is that with the right person I could actually be more me then I could when I was alone, probably sounds like a cliché, but the right person really makes it easier to be who you are because you know for certain that you are loved for just being you.

I do think Gen has a point as well, the loss of your parents might have been so traumatic, that one of the reasons you want to be alone is to never get hurt like that again, but I'm no shrink and just talking out of my ass here :muppet:

When you get to a point you can support yourself, and even thrive, then you start wanting to share it with someone. Im at a point in life where I want to care for people. Sharing with and feeding friends goes a long way, but someone to share life with more intimately would certainly make life warmer
