I don't think people really understand how deep the right-wing programming goes, tbh. They'll always use all manner of sensationalism to distract people from the truth, and they're always doing that in order to distract people from the very blatant scams that made them and keep them rich.

Is it so wrong to want anarchy and small government.

Not at all, self-autonomy is the key. The issue is the various complicated thesholds which keep us from realizing how to enact it for ourselves.

:ilold:

Why would anyone expect to find "manly" men amongst modern day conservatives. They're afraid of cities, immigrants, playing fair, and can't leave the house without a gun to feel safe.

The conservative idea of what it means to be a man is the same as every 9 year old's idea of masculinity/manliness. It's the kind of "manly" that likely has a drinking problem and hit's their wife.

Quite the contrary... Republicans administrations are far more likely to explode the deficit.

Recent tax cuts have caused Moody's to downgrade the US credit rating... Which, I believe makes the cost of the debt go up, also.

So much for "Fiscal conservativism"... which is not a thing, and hasn't been in my lifetime, of it ever was.

The really sad part about it is that Republicans are utterly wasteful and irresponsible with the money they DO spend. They don't provide fuck all for their constituents, now they are even cutting medicaid and SNAP... which ironically are utilized far more by Republican voters, than Democratic voters.

We don't get anything in return for the increased deficit, when Republicans are in power. Only the rich and powerful reap any benefit.

It's more nuanced - poor states are much more often republican - poor urban people are more likely democrat (as well as high income). There are way more people in cities, but poor states with low population have more influence than equal numbers of urbanites via electoral college & senate so their influence is over-weighted

It's not nuance at all. You and others repeat that more Republicans use welfare then democrats.  More is directly a count to compare each group effected.

Republican states use something like $2 in federal welfare money for every $1 they contribute, and Liberal states like California provide $2 for every $1 they use.

It's not a lie. It's a well known fact.

It's true, republican states are a money suck.

What vicepope might be meaning to say here is there are a lot more poor black people than are being acknowleged, and even still I'm sure the basic idea is that we want to help both groups regardless, anyways.
