No just some PP5 bead containers. I love them because how easy they are to reuse and the threads give some protection but allow for some breathing also. Any condensation evaporates well when stored vertically.

Thanks, yeah having a dedicated area has helped immensely. I hope to one day build a building with a lab and a couple of fruiting rooms. Wanna be able to take medicinal and gourmet grows to my local farmers market on a consistent basis when I retire from my normal job.

Anyone using software or maybe an Excel template to keep track of all the plates. I see this getting out of hand quickly and may need more than numbers on a petri?

I use one of these to label plates and jars now. Less than $20 on the zon and no more scrubbing marker of lids and plates,

I would wipe with a spreadsheet if the monitor wasn't so stiff.

Hi, all! New to The Shroomery and mushroom cultivation—and especially new to working with agar.

I took a sample to clone from a previous harvest and have this so far. Is everything looking normal?







I was initially concerned about the color change, but after poking around some previous posts found that it’s not uncommon for the mycelium to consume the food coloring.

At this point looking to do some transfers until I have a clean culture to take to my first grain jars!

I store plates in tall stacks Beef.  No condensation except the top ones.

Welcome to the Shroomery! That first plate is NG. Not sure I would even open it to take anything from it. The other plate you should be able to grab something off the edge anywhere between the 12 to 8 area. You should be able to clean that 2nd plate up with a transfer or two.

There's been a lot of discussion around condensation here lately...
I present you this soupy mess with liquid mycelium floating everywhere, there is however a clear winner here...

Transferred the same day and yes there can be other variables at play but if you're confident your transfer is clean then it's basically a plate of mycelium just doing it's own thing everytime you pick the plate up :lol:

There's no science here, just anecdotes and feels.

Thank you, good sir. Don't sweat it, I didn't mean to call anyone out. I think that I requested those genetics in the middle of our hellscape summer. I should know better than that. I just think everything that I got around that time got cooked in the mail.

I am trying to focus more on optimizing techniques, workflows and lab testing and less on various species right now. But I appreciate the offer and will hit you up down the road when I get back on the pokemon, gotta get them all phase again.
