those are all varieties that contain an infinite amount of strains of psilocybe cubensis. being the same species, they all have the same growing conditions.

Does the 118 in  Mac 118 stand for 118g?

Like one big fruit that weighed 118? Just curious. I've got a big boy popping up right now that will most likely hit those numbers if it's not hollow.

Did a transfer and got this haze over the rest of the plate that wasn’t there before. Is that a contam that spreads way faster than the myc?

Here’s a better contrast, clean and likely contam, pulled from different starter plates. Just curious if that haze is a known contam or something weird like condensation on the surface of the agar spreading the myc idk. Thanks for the feedback!

Thanks, guys! The mini rounds are resting in the SAB. Gonna get down to it shortly.

I lost 4 of the 16 I made, already. The lids dont like to stay on some of them. Lost two when removing from the PC, one while moving to a different area, and one while transferring to the SAB. Oh well.

While I'm waiting for the dust to settle in my work area, I snapped a few pics of the brf cakes I started a while back. These are the ones that I really want to clone. The myc performed very well.






This last pic is a little jail cell I created for one of the cakes that I suspected might have contam. It's an improvised water tub made from a yogurt container. Seems ok so far.

Looks good and you got some nice pins poking out! Good idea too with the isolation of a questionable cake. Hopefully it didn’t contaminate others while moving it. You’ll know soon enough.

To avoid loosing plates like you did, try the D3 tek where you pc the agar in media bottles after cooking it in a pot on the stove. Then pour your agar into the plates in a SAB and let them cool in there in stacks. I pour in stacks of 5 from the bottom up, then stack in stacks of 10 until they cool and then wrap them in stacks of 10. I cut off what I need to use when I need them and then wrap individually after inoculation.

I also wondered this. My assumption is that 118 is the isolate/culture number that they picked to sent out prints/swabs from. In other words, this this the 118th version of the culture they've been working on.

Sure is. Spore grows have tons of genetics therefore tons of different possibilities, not necessarily all good

ineffective? no i wouldnt say that.
as most of the varieties you come across are already domesticated and cultivated to the point that they have become more or less stable. sure there is still a certain variability if you are working from multispore.
one mushroom might be rather weak and the neighbour super strong.
even in the same tub.

Are the shrooms definitely ineffective? Often people aren't storing them correctly, lying, underdosing, mixing with other drugs that reduce the effects, or any of the 20 variables that go into a trip.

I wouldn't jump to genetics. As chris said above, unless the prints are from the wild, they've been stabilized to the point that MS is quite reliable for flushes and potency. Are they all weak or what? It's not impossible you have poor genetics. Pasty had an entire PE flush that was bunk.

possible but highly unlikely.  people majorly underestimate how much an ssri can inhibit a trip.  ive also had quite a bit of experience with a benzo--particularly clonezepam aka klonopin which has a very long halflife--inhibiting psychs to almost nothing, if not completely turning it off.

eating shrooms on a full stomach can also really slow down the ingestion but usually thats more of a delayed response.

Yikes, I've cut back my venlafaxine for this but not clonazepam.  Pretty much need clonazepam.

then you dont need shrooms.  with an ssri stacked with a benzo, you will not be able to get any benefit from them.  i dropped klonopin because i couldnt trip.  i get more out of mushrooms than any pharma drug.

That explains why I've been having mild trips. 14 grams of golden teachers felt like a mild trip. The only full on trip I've had on mushrooms is on 14 grams of APEs.

I'm slowly discontinuing clonazepam. I "need" it but I don't want it.
