Comparison between real nats and black cap ochraceocentrata. Low AF as suspected. I do get a lot of positive feedback from BCO though from friends despite their low testing.

Well, I might as well come out of hiding and make my first post here. Absolute beginner, never tried mushrooms, been cultivating a P. Natalensis liquid culture from a reputable source. I used drippy corn for initial colonization, and spawned to bulk with just plain coir. unmodified sterilite bin. Hopefully all goes well, it has until now. Any tips or advice are welcomed always.

I hope the quitting smoking is going well. It is very difficult, and I still think about them quite a bit.

It is typically fine to actually elevate your plasma nicotine levels over what would be typical from smoking alone.

You could try combining a high dose patch, with a moderately dosed vaping nicotine solution, and then consider Zyban/bupropion on top if need be.

I'm a very anxious person so the bupropion didn't work out well.  Had horrible insomnia.

I'll let it go someday, but not today.

Gosh, Buspar was a bad choice for me in regards to medication. It was insidious, too, but I've since found Pregabalin/Lyrica to work really good(for my nerve pain) for my friends who I reccomend get it prescribed for their anxiety. They're on 300mg daily, im on twice that; the anti-anxiety effects kinda blend in with my daily life.

But anyway I'm glad I found this thread. I'm about to run some real nats and wanted tailored support, and google was quick to reveal nothing but ochraceocentrata info. Will definitely do some trashcans and some five gallon outdoor pots.

Spawned Nov 10 from oats
50/50 coir and cow poo at a ratio of 1:2
Kept in 110 qt mono with bubbling water and aquarium heater



I'm thinking this looks pretty fucking good.

Thanks for the kind welcome :smile:, Even though it's just barely a month post bulk, my tub was showing signs of drying out and yellow mushroom piss was slowly spreading each day conditions were less than ideal. After no signs of pinning I decided to add a coir casing layer. Pretty nervous about introducing any potential problems but I had to do something. I also decided to split a colonized jar into three takeaways as an experiment.

They colonized well, grow room(bedroom) temps swing between 60-70, things are moving slow. I popped their lids off and put them into a larger tub but am realizing I need to boost the humidity in there. Large 32 quart tub is stalled but healthy looking. it was spawned to bulk 61 days ago. Taking a bit.... I have to spray it aggressively every now and then to maintain surface beads. Don't really know what I'm doing!
