damn those are chunky.  I'm somewhat surprised those genetics will even grow outside.  I figured these hybrids were too weird to make it in the wild.

Ochras flush 3. Green dot on caps is new and the size increases have started. These guys are easily double the size of their first flush. Will keep all flushes independent and test potency of each.

This is my first grow, so I was opening this tub about 2 times a day to smell and obsess over them. Luckily I made a few tubs. I'm going to try to cut it out with a glass to hopefully minimize any spores or whatnot, and move the container to the shed for science

Maybe move it to the shed FIRST, then do your glass surgeries to your sub.

IME pasteurized/ boiled chips in a tote colonize a lot faster than sterilized chips in a jar. I guess because of better gas exchange? Sterilized jars never contam on me, but in a tote the myc often overruns any contams

pasteurization doesn't sterilize, and it's thought that in some cases the organisms left behind may prove somehow beneficial to the process.

I figure it’s got to be an air issue if that’s the case. I’ve only done sterilized chips in 2 jars and it was gyms. I’m going to toss some ovoids into chip jars and I’ll get a good side by side.

Would definitely be more convenient to just use totes

Just chipping in (SHUT UP DAD) to say I like to colonize grain or chips in a jar, then spawn directly to outside beds.  Yes, you can colonize in totes... but I suck at it and mine aways end up contaminating at some point, so I just eliminate the step entirely.

The right ovoid culture can be a lot of fun.  They're voracious and can fruit in huge numbers.

I like how they are all pretty much open to the same degree.  for some reason I feel like I did a better job when everything flushes together, even if what I did had nothing to do with it.
