I'd say take a few transfers from 2-4 o clock and if those grow clean send it to grain.

not optimal, but I would guess that you could reheat it and dilute then add the right amount of nutes.

The agar currently resides in a bunch of 60 and 90mm plates.  I should have realized I screwed up when it was pouring like thick honey.

Thank you amazing people for the quick response!!! I was planning on transferring that right side but I’m  pretty much brand new at this. First time cloning. First time pouring my own plates.  This community is awesome I’ve been learning so much , falling asleep with eyes crossed from reading in bed all might. Thanks again and I’ll be back!!

fair point, people love symmetry though :crazy2::mushroom2:

edit: @golfin_ernie - tri is probably right its probably fine I was just in problem solving mode and knew reheating / diluting would probably work.

So it’s 4% rather than 2%?

Oh well, it’ll be fine, just roll with it

Two types of ppl in this world.. people who grow shrooms and people who transfer their agar way too many times chasing aesthetics

What if I use a different agar recipe nearly every batch based on nothing but impulse and whim??

Am I a type of person???

Frig I need to clean plates. Maybe I’ll micropore some no pours

Is scraping the agar with a loop better then dropping a few drops of a spore syringe on the agar?

Both work fine

U should see growth between like 4-7 days

But it could be anywhere from like 2-30 days depending on if it's older spores or whatever

Fresh spores can germinate in like 24 hours maybe less even

i'm sure some people would transfer that i'd prob just send it to grains

if ur gonna transfer it again take i would take it from 3:00

They should do both.

You don't need to sacrifice a whole plate to transfer or inoculate. A wedge as small as the letter on this screen can be used for both

semantics but ya i do agree. i could have expounded on that better

the main thing i was getting at is that it was clean enough to go to grains without further transfer

I'm thinking that might actually be cobweb mold, which is rare.

I've heard people say it looks kind of like smoke.

A lot of new growers get fluffy mycelium and ask if it's cobweb mold, it's almost always not. But that might be.

Anyone here ever seen actual cobweb mold?

Regardless of what it is, it's not shroom mycelium. Though there is a little on the chunk you transferred.

Bod said he got some 11 years ago, and he grew some out into grain as a demonstration:

I've been trying to get anything done with agar, but it's not working. I probably have 40-ish empty/dirty plates that are just sitting. I've needed new plates for the past week or two, but they don't get done. I fucking hate that money and life stress are keeping me from the only fucking thing that gives me the tiniest bit of happiness.
