I'm just getting back into growing after a six-year break. I only grew cubes before, so this is my first run at nats and my second run after a long break. I'm going to chalk it up to me not knowing what the fuck I'm doing for now.

I have new genetics coming from a generous member when it's ready, so I'm waiting for that.

Just when I feel like I'm getting into the groove, I gotta scale back. Having surgery in January and I'm not supposed to be doing anything even remotely strenuous afterwards, so I'm winding things down through December.

Fuggin bummer about the surgery. Hope it goes well for ya man. Offer stands on the genetics anytime though - I really like the sharing side of this, so it's never a bother.

Yeah, it's definitely a bit subjective. I haven't had what I would consider an exceptional grow yet, but most have been satisfactory for sure. So yeah, when my first flush looks like a 3rd flush, it's pretty mediocre to me, but someone just getting started or striking out time after time would surely appreciate the mediocrity.

Only 2-3 (can't remember precisely) out of 10 jars made it to spawning, I think something is hiding in my plates cause every contammed jar has had the exact same type of mold for the past few batches. Going to go for a perfectly circular monoculture and see if I can pump that success rate up.

Not in anyway bustin your balls here, but "monoculture" is being misused here. It happens quite a bit, and it's confusing for people so figured I'd mention it. A monoculture isn't a transfer that shows uniform, circular growth. Ill take a risk here and at least provide the broad strokes bc I'm sure as shit not an expert on it, but 2 spores germinate and hook up, and that creates a monoculture - one nucleus. To get a compelete culture that will fruit, you'll need at least another monoculture to link up with that one, and now you've got the two "parent figures".

That was surely a barbaric explanation, but I didnt want to comment without any explanation and seem like I was just picking on your or something.

But yeah, keep workin the agar amigo - you'll get there!

While I wait on some jars and BRF pucks to colonize, I decided to try something I saw around here somewhere... please have your slings and arrows at the ready before looking at the picture.



3x old PastyPlates with PE7, 1x HG with x7x+, all had been pinning like crazy, so I plucked the bigger ones (down the hatch), then cased all 4 with coir that I pressed down lightly. Then placed the plates into a 2 gal Fahtlock style bag, and that went into a shoebox to keep it together.

My pucks are coming along nicely, they will be fruited like this as well.
