Also, for those interested, did a search back to some posts I made years ago and found this thread which is where I also learned this tek. Definitely one of the simplest, low fuss and mess ways to grow.

I just like to experiment for fun, my process is already so simple if I made it any simpler I don't think I'd have a reason to participate, except perhaps for crossbreeding attempts. So i will try it out, but it's not going to replace my methods unless it had a shot at improving my yields.

My tubs are already unmodified, I already ignore them the second I spawn to bulk, I already only do the bare minimum of ingredients. I barely measure anything anymore, I go by eye. Temp and humidity just go wherever now because I don't monitor it. Still getting canopies and canopy-adjacent tubs despite that.

Plus if you fruit right out of the jar, imo don't you drastically reduce the amount of surface area you have for your yields? I understand if your jars is bacterial and you have no choice, but is it really simply about convenience? I guess if you dont really care about weight and just want to trip once or twice it's not a bad idea though.

It doesn't have recovery period so could be faster to harvest...

But I'm with you less surface area is less potential.

I can't really speak to comparative yields because all I ever did was grows completely in bags with various substrates and this tek. What I can say is from the grows I did a few years back, after the 3rd flush, it sure seemed like the grain in the jar had pretty much given everything it could. After the first flush, the cake shrinks and pulls away from the sides of the jar and pins come from those sides so I'm not sure the surface area concern is that big a deal. I don't think fruiting those grain cakes in a more open chamber would have impacted much.

This particular method is a fit for people that don't want big grows, want to be more stealthy and keep the entire operation in a drawer and just want a super simple tek that requires very little fuss. No casing, no growing chambers, you adjust air flow with a simple lid turn... humidity is always perfect... no dunking needed just poor some water in the jar between flushes. No misting, fanning or tub cleaning or maintenance. Jars are cheap and easy to hide in a drawer. Super easy to get a very clean pin or isolate, because until you pick the first flush, everything is definitely much cleaner than in an open tub..

It just depends on your priorities. I got 12-15 grams dry from each jar which was definitely more than I needed.

How long do y'all let an LC test plate grow out before giving the LC permission to launch? I figure 7-10 days and nothing concerning sounds good but wanted to make sure there's not something I'm not taking into account.

I was wondering if anyone knows of anyone pulled off a "fully mobile grow." By that i mean that once they inoculate their jars, they carry two of em with them at all times in a carryover backpack, and then they fruit it in a tiny portable tub that also fits in selfsame backpack. And successfully navigated all the nuances changes in environment and temperature as you traveled the world?

was actually thinking along these lines re transporting gift grows in freezing cold weather. but thought close to the body for warmth, so a jar or small bag grow in an inside jacket pocket :lol:

edit: maybe a baby carrier so you can watch your little babies all the time, keep em warm in a snugli

I have to design a carrying case that will keep the jars stable as i move around, as well as lock my bin in as stable a level as possible...

Check out the hard sided firearm cases with the foam block inside that can be customized to accommodate the shape of whatever you're storing in it.

I won't lie that vincent hard shell backpack with the pictures printed on it is probably the most hipster backpack ever created, but for some reason i still want it. Question is if vincent backpacks created in a high enough and stable quality so I could adapt the apparatus im designing.

That's a good idea, and I bet having a slot it can fit so snugly in would help for heat. The problem I'm actually running into is having something that is snug enough to hold the container and jars firmly in place, but not so snugly that it chokes off my fae.

Maybe something like this:

https://www.511tactical.com/eu-en/lvc-covert-carry-pack-1.html

There's also gym bags/backpacks that are square and meant to be put into a locker. Some foam inserts added to such a bag will probably get the job done.

Traveling while growing mushrooms on your person seems incredibly ill-advised (in most places in the world).

Im not literally gonna travel the world with it haha, just take it around with me locally and to my job. The jobs actually the hard part considering where I work (you would lol @ the risk if i told you), but considering I have an under the table deal with my supervisor to allow me to smoke weed whenever I want on shift, I think I can get away with it >:)

Nobody has to see. As long as it doesn't ever smell too bad, I can get away with it traveling locally.
