Vg is vegetable glycerine. And additive in cartridges for vaping.

Sorry it's not the additive. It's the actual juice inside. For which they add nicotine to. it helps as a carrier for the nicotine otherwise by itself the nicotine wouldn't really produce great clouds and smoke well from the research I've done.

And its combined with propylene glycol

Which is why he says a higher % of vg

Yo what at the unholy fuck at how bad these APEs smell dehydrating, there is no way, my whole house stinks, my kids are asking about it. Is there a trick to hiding this smell? It's literally making me sick to my stomach, making me feel as if I've eaten a bunch and am nearly puking due to it. I can't stand this smell, I've got a mask on and can still smell it... haaalp...

I air freshener bombed the whole downstairs and it helped for two minutes.

Been away for at least 8 years... First post back!

Considering another grow. What is the name of the grain or seed that can be grown in jars or bags that doesn't need any casing of any type?  I had real success with it as it was a super easy one-step process. Hydrate the grain, put it in jars, sterilize and they fruited right out of the jars... no fuss at all.

Was it rye grass seed?  The important thing is it didn't need casing in order to fruit.

Got a spare bathroom with an exhaust fan?  Put the dehydrator in there and turn on the fan.  With the door closed there should be enough negative pressure to contain the smell.

Well i know people who fruit out of jars, but i don't think I've seen people just start from a grain only and nothing else and just fruit from the jars. So I'd be curious to see the method people used eight years ago to achieve this since I missed it i guess.

That is a really good idea and exactly what im going to do. I really underestimated the reports of how bad these smelled, i thought it couldn't be that much worse than regular cubes...

I guess my memory is off then. I could have sworn there was no need to case it which is why I liked the approach so well.

Anyway, if inoculate a quart sized jar with LC and put about 4 inches of grain in there, how thick should the casing layer be?

It sounds like you're trying to fruit it in the jar? I'm not sure if this bc you think you have to or if you just want to, but heres the hitchhikers guide that has most of the latest methods and such if you need it.

Or any vape store. Just ask for "zeros" (no nicotine). And choose your flavors. If your just going to use the small 1 ml cartridge like thc  concentrate you'll likely want 50/50 pg/vg... the sub ohms is when the extra vg helps the clouds. Plus a large %of the population has some kind of allergy to pg(usually very minor). 

I picked up the geekvape 100watt built-in battery.  The cool thing about this is you can find (on wish) the rda for mesh. And this nifty little thing you fold the mesh (Stainless steel) into a boat to put the spice on and set the device to tc-ss(temperature control) and blast off with out burning in one hit.

I had a number of successful grows, mostly in bags from liquid cultures I grew, but found I just didn't need big yields and I somehow stumbled on a tek here that suggested some grain (I think it was rye grass seed???) that tended to retain quite a bit of water so was ideal for fruiting off of from the jars.

I must have grown at least 20 jars that way very easily and successfully without any tubs or complex setups. Just inoculated the jars/grain with LC, waited a few weeks. then I guess I cased it and then put the jar inside a clean myco bag for humidity... bottom watered and honestly, they fruited great. 15-20 good sized fruits from 2-3 flushes and very little mess and hassle. That's the method I want to replicate.

Any grain will work... rye, wheat, barley, corn, wbs, milliet etc


Then just add  hydrated coir or coir+vermiculite to the top.  Pop into a fat zip lock poke some holes and wait.

Are you thinking of Violet's tek?

I haven't tried that one. But I have enjoyed Muda's bottle tek (I use 2:1 coir to any grain by volume, but you can use all sorts of stuff for the nutrient part). You can inoculate them with LC or a tiny bit of colonized grain. Fruit in a water tub or an EZ dial monotub, cased with coir and/or vermiculite, misting as needed. (Edit: SirPsycho uses 2L bottles with the bottom cut off, placed on top of the jars/quart rounds, with no need for a tub. He's posted lots of pictures of this and of course I can't find one now. :facepalm:)

I seriously cannot THANK YOU enough!!!!  This is exactly the tek I stumbled across years ago... Violet!!!  This was the one I used and it was, by far, the simplest and easiest and very successful every time I did it.

It absolutely worked, providing of course, you have good clean LC. 

I think, for most beginners that have a pressure cooker and know how to make clean LC and aren't trying to create huge grows, this is the best way to go.
