Biden pardoned Hunter.

Biden should pardon Trump. Just for shits and giggles and it takes agency away from Trump, because he will certainly pardon himself at some point.

So are MAGA heads going to explode or are they just waiting for the thousands of pardons trump is going to drop on day one?

The pardon, Biden has no political capital left....he wont even be around for endorsements on campaign trails. I can faintly remember past "iffy/ controversial/ high profile" pardons; maybe Nixon. Definitely won't hurt the Dems in the longrun.

I was joking like, as though I had already forgotten.  Basically, I agree with your premise.  Presidents make controversial pardons on the way out but nobody really cares or even remembers for very long

Exactly. His political integrity is now completely obliterated so he might as well try to keep his parental ditto. Nothing to lose, as you say.
It doesn't change the fact that his son appears to be a complete jerk, though. I guess there won't be any more chances for pardon next
time he gets caught with his nose all powdered up. Which is very likely to happen, I guess.

That makes me think of all the power he has that was granted to him by the supreme court that he isn’t using at all. All the things that could happen between inauguration day and right now.

It just makes the law look like a total joke in my opinion, when the top people on both side can get away with whatever they want. How much rock is Hunter gonna smoke in celebration tonight?

It seems pretty similar to Trump's conviction; both were basically just caught in lying to cover up or gain advantage. Probably not anything that deserved jail time IMO. But daddy bailing out the son is such a classic case of abuse of power. I won't forget seeing it at the highest level. This is way more cringe than Trump pardoning Kodak Black n Roger Stone.

I read a quote that his reasons were that his son was addicted at the time. Boohoo. And that the trial was politically motivated or something.

But when asked in June, he said he felt it had been a fair trial and would respect the jury decision.

It's a total 180.
