Thanks wr3n, everything's just like you said! The mycelium started to run away from the contam zone after the plate dried up a bit. I'll make a transfer from 10 o'clock, it looks promising.

Doing 1 1/4 cups RGS. I ask because everything I read deals with 90mm petri's and using about a quarter of a fully colonized plate...should I do one half of an HG? But RGS is usually a faster colonizer, should I factor that in or just go full halfsies?

And the reason sslc is faster than lc.

Most of my plates now only get about 1.67% agar.
Before Nichrome had mentioned how much of a difference just fractions of a % made. I just winged it (still used scale but was never super precise.)

The first picture is bacteria and I wouldn't keep it around personally. Since your new to agar you can keep it to look at it if you want. The other pictures aren't clear enough for me to see but sometimes germination plates look a little weird. But listen to Supa who said to look at the leading edge. Is a little hard to tell at first.
