Looks Great!

Its soo hard to tell sectoring with oblong wedges. I'd say that's as close to one as you can get.

I took clones from 2 fast growing large mushrooms in my first flush that came up before the rest. After cloning I had 3 plates that had bacteria on them, but all of these ones here look good to me. I'm going to put them on oats and pick one plate from each batch to keep growing on another batch of plates. My agar is just BRF for nutrients. These are all 11 days old.

1) Do they look clean to you?
2) Is there any reason to transfer them again, before going to oats, if they look clean?
3) Do any of them look like the best choice for any reason to keep expanding onto other plates?
4) Is it normal for the growth to vary this much in a clone?

Those all look highly suspicious. That dark color is not what it's supposed to look like. The brown stuff in the middle is highly questionable.

Edit: maybe I'm seeing a reflection or something ?

I would transfer again so they are uniform.
Looks like a good culture though 👍.

If you got the space and materials take a very small transfer  to new dish then send part of one. That way you'll at least have your new T(#)
And see how it performs.

the dark color is just the myc digesting the pigment

I've said it before, and I'll say it again now. I recommend new growers NOT use food coloring, until you are consistently getting clean plates.

Coloring makes it harder to spot contam, especially as it eats the color and looks freaky like this.

If you MUST get fancy out the gate, use activated charcoal. It doesn't look worse as it grows, unlike food coloring, And it's actually a nutrient. I think myclelium grows better on it than without it.

I've been growing for almost 20 years and I was thrown off by the color of those plates as well, having never been exposed to coloring before. So i couldn't agree more. 👍

Butter_Butter: Some of those actually look good, despite the diseased look from it eating the food coloring.

I'd recommend you make some more agar mix with no coloring, PC it, make some new plates, and transfer from the rhizo edges of these to new plates. I think you'll get good plates that are easier to tell they're clean. then let those grow out 10 days or so, then send to PCed grain.
