No appropriate place to post this, so went with Biden being very old.

Last week indigenous tribesmen in Brazil with bow and arrows got in fatal conflict with loggers. First report was two loggers killed and two missing. Now they're saying illegal loggers who attacked first, and one dead on each side. This particular indigenous group is considered one of the most isolated from outside contact in the world.

The new environmentalism.

The previous government of Bolsonaro had an agenda against indigenous rights (including territory and resources), as well intentional nonenforcement of environmental laws. Lula da Silva's return to power in 2023 reverses that course and created Brazil's first Ministry of Indigenous Peoples.

Have no clue how they currently differentiate legal and illegal logging, but govt declared open season on hunting illegal loggers. Would be better to shoot arrows at McDonalds Board meeting.

I think it's funny that I still see people talk about Biden as if "he's fiiiiine, Trump is the senile one" lmao! Trump is just as uneducated and stupid as he has always been. Biden is cleeeearly not fit to manage a burger King. Trump never was either, but it's not the same thing, and in 4 years, Biden will be an utter vegetable.

Sometimes debts aren't worth collecting. I would 100% rather have trump erased from mainstream than have a whole new season of Trump drama over some petty principle. The best thing would be if we just forgave him, moved on and let him wither away in his echo chamber. We can condemn him and sue his estate in 10 years when Mitch, Don and Joe are all dead and no one cares anymore.

90% of us are unconvicted drug felons. When did we start caring about convicting felons?

And obviously it's not that simple or he would have been in jail decades ago. The amount of times democrats have swung and missed is starting to get embarrassing. The whole frenzy around trying to convict him and hold him accountable for anything possible is what's driving the far right's popular message that the state is just a tool being used against their messiah. Taking away that threat of prosecution, assassination, media bias, etc. would take all the steam out of his doomsday message. He would be back where he started, a failed businessman whining about the economy.

There's a lot of work that needs to continue being done in this country to hold the corrupt wealthy accountable. Take the struggle to prosecute Trump, and direct it toward changing the systems that allow many people just like him and worse than him to get away with crimes.
